HEIM DOMINATES AT LIME ROCK; MCQUEEN SHINES WITH BREAKOUT ROAD COURSE PERFORMANCE

LOGAN MCQUEEN III SCORES CAREER-BEST ROAD COURSE FINISH, SECURING 2ND BEHIND A PERFECT DAY FOR COREY HEIM
Few tracks on the schedule challenge NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers like Lime Rock Park, and entering the weekend, Logan McQueen III made no secret of it: road courses were still his weak spot.
But on Saturday afternoon, the driver of the No. 51 Racing Electronics / Peak Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado delivered the best road course performance of his career, finishing 2nd behind race-winner Corey Heim and collecting a strong haul of 49 points.
McQueen qualified 6th, his highest road course start, improving steadily through the session as he grew more confident with braking zones and exit speed.
Once the green flag dropped, he backed it up with results.
He powered to 5th in Stage 1, adding 6 points, then charged forward in Stage 2, finishing 3rd for 8 more. By the start of the final stage, McQueen was solidly inside the top five and applying pressure to the leaders.
The race became a battle of precision and consistency, ultimately ending under caution when Cody Dennison and Luke Baldwin got together in turn four with the leaders on the last lap.
Heim, however, was flawless, leading every stage and controlling the tempo. McQueen matched the pace as best he could, ultimately bringing home an impressive 2nd-place finish, tying his best non-oval performance and proving he’s no longer vulnerable on road courses.
“This was big for us,” McQueen said. “Road courses have always been tough for me. I’ve been grinding on the sim, working with Alex (Ward), studying data… and this weekend it finally started to click. We still have a lot more room to grow, but runs like this give us confidence. I’m planning on making road course work a priority again this offseason.”
Crew chief Alex Ward echoed that sentiment.
“Logan’s taken massive steps,” Ward said. “He asked for every bit of information we had. Every track map, every throttle trace, every brake reference. Today was him putting all of that together.”
McQueen also earned praise from his competitors, even on social media, where several drivers highlighted his improvement after the flag dropped.
With only three races remaining in the regular season, McQueen tightened his grip on a strong points position, keeping the pressure on Heim as the championship battle intensifies.

They Said It
Logan McQueen III: “This was a huge step for me. Road courses have kicked my butt in the past, but today we finally put together the kind of run I know we’re capable of. Alex and the team gave me an awesome truck. I’m planning on spending a ton of time this offseason working on road racing — I want to turn these into places where we can win.”
Corey Heim: “We were strong all day, but credit to Logan. He’s come a long way on these kinds of tracks. If he keeps improving like that, he’s going to be a problem for all of us.”
