DELAWARE DOMINATES MISSOURI STATE ON THE GROUND
Blue Hens finish regular season perfect at 12–0

Saturday November 28, 2026 | Delaware Stadium – Newark, Delaware | 3:00 PM

Newark, Delaware – Delaware took a few drives to find its rhythm on Saturday, but once the Blue Hens settled in, Missouri State had no answers.
After falling behind 3–0 in the first quarter, the undefeated Hens reeled off 38 unanswered points, leaning on a bruising rushing attack and a stifling defense to dismantle the visiting Bears and move to 12–0 on the season.

Running back Darrion Dupree was the centerpiece of the offense once again, rushing for 146 yards and two scores on just 16 carries. Quarterback Mason Kelsay added 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while also throwing for 130 yards and a short touchdown to Ja’Carree Kelly before halftime.

“We kept our heads down and ran the ball like we always do,” Dupree said. “Our O-line wore them out, and once we got going, we didn’t look back.”

The second half belonged to the defense and special teams. Delaware held Missouri State to just 69 rushing yards on 26 attempts, picked off Cole Feuerbacher twice, and completely shut the Bears out in the red zone.

Kahlil Seay and Chris Gill each grabbed interceptions, while Acheampong and the defensive front created pressure throughout the afternoon. Missouri State’s lone scoring drives were a pair of Josh Deal field goals, one in the first, one midway through the third.

Luke Brown capped the day with a late five-yard touchdown run, giving the Blue Hens their fourth rushing score and sealing a complete team performance.

“Wins like this are about culture,” head coach Tony Sanchez said. “You grind, you trust, and you take care of business no matter how you start. That’s who we are.”

With the regular season now in the books, Delaware turns its attention to the postseason—undefeated, battle-tested, and still getting better.

BLUE HEN REPORT
News and notes from Delaware's latest game
Delaware 38 – Missouri State 6

Trending Up
Perfect Season | The Blue Hens closed out their regular season in dominant fashion, completing a 12–0 campaign, the first perfect regular season in program history. Delaware outscored opponents 374–164 on the year and enters the conference championship as the #12 team in the country.
RB Darrion Dupree | Dupree continued his stellar season, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns on just 16 carries. His blend of speed and vision shredded Missouri State’s front seven and set the tone early. Dupree now has 1,238 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the season.
QB Mason Kelsay | Kelsay accounted for two total touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, while rushing for 70 yards and throwing for 130 more. His poise and efficiency guided Delaware to 429 yards of offense and five red zone touchdowns.
Defense | Delaware’s defense suffocated Missouri State, allowing only 69 rushing yards and keeping the Bears out of the end zone entirely. Collin Gill and KT Seay each grabbed interceptions, while Collins Acheampong added two sacks. The unit ranks first nationally in scoring defense, giving up just 13.7 points per game.
Trending Down
Passing Efficiency | While Kelsay’s legs were a weapon, the passing game again struggled to find rhythm. Delaware quarterbacks combined for 172 passing yards with two interceptions and a completion rate under 60%. The offense leaned heavily on the ground game to pull away.
Third Down Conversions | The Hens went just 3-for-10 on third down, continuing a midseason trend of inconsistency in sustaining drives. Against elite postseason opponents, those empty possessions could prove costly.
Quotables
HC Tony Sanchez | “Twelve and oh! That’s not luck. That’s culture, preparation, and belief. This team shows up every Saturday.”
RB Darrion Dupree | “We wanted to finish what we started. Every time we step on the field, we remind people who we are.”
QB Mason Kelsay | “We’re proud, but not done. We’ve got bigger goals ahead.”
DB KT Seay | “It’s all about getting to the ball. Doesn’t matter who makes the play, someone’s going to.”
Injury Notes
LB Makai Alexander | Remains week-to-week with a PCL injury. Delaware continues to rotate depth at linebacker with success.
News
History Made | Delaware finishes the regular season 12–0 for the first time in school history and enters the CUSA Championship as the top seed.
Conference Championship Bound | The Blue Hens will face Kennesaw State in next week’s title game, seeking their first conference crown.
National Spotlight | Delaware sits at #12 in the CFP rankings and remains the highest-ranked Group of Five team in the country.
Recruiting Buzz | Delaware received a commitment from 3-star linebacker Trae Forte of Gainesville, GA. Forte chose Delaware over Georgia State.
Next Up
The undefeated Blue Hens (12–0 | 8–0) head to the CUSA Championship Game against Kennesaw State ( 6-6 | 5-3 )
