Ruthless Aggression | A WWE Universe

At WrestleMania 22, the wrestling world witnessed an unforgettable moment as Xixak finally captured the WWE Championship in a grueling main event. Fans erupted in jubilation, celebrating Xixak's triumph, which marked the culmination of years of perseverance and hard-fought battles. However, the celebration was short-lived. The very next night on Raw, Xixak stunned the WWE Universe by announcing his departure from the company, taking the WWE Championship with him.
Without its prestigious title, WWE faced an unprecedented crisis. The company's flagship championship, the symbol of its legacy, was gone. Efforts to negotiate with Xixak failed, and the WWE Championship remained conspicuously absent. This monumental loss led to a decline in viewership and revenue, forcing WWE to make the difficult decision to shut down operations.
Years passed, and the wrestling world grew desolate without the spectacle of WWE. However, hope resurfaced when WWE announced its return, albeit with a bold new rebrand. Embracing the legacy of its former rival, WWE relaunched its flagship show under the iconic banner of WCW Monday Nitro.
The reimagined WCW would feature four new championships, each with its own lineage and prestige. At the pinnacle stood the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the company's new top prize. The WCW United States Championship provided a platform for mid-card talent to shine. The WCW Women's Classic Championship represented the pinnacle of women's wrestling, while the WCW World Tag Team Championships showcased the best tag teams in the business.
In a further departure from tradition, WWE adopted a "season" format for its yearly pay-per-views, promising a fresh and dynamic approach to storytelling. The anticipation grew as the new roster was unveiled, featuring 42 superstars ready to usher in this new era.
The main event scene boasted legendary names like Batista, CM Punk, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Randy Orton, The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The mid-card was stacked with talent such as Booker T, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Bron Breaker, Cody Rhodes, The Fiend, Finn Balor, Kurt Angle, and Seth Rollins.
The women's division was stronger than ever, featuring Asuka, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Chyna, Eve Torres, Lita, Molly Holly, Rhea Ripley, and Trish Stratus.
Tag team action promised to be electrifying with teams like The Bloodline (Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns), Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker, Kane), D-Generation X (Triple H, Shawn Michaels), Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley), Imperium (Drew McIntyre, Sheamus), Judgement Day (Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor), Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero), and New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods).
As the world prepared for the resurgence of wrestling under the WCW Monday Nitro banner, fans eagerly anticipated the new rivalries, stories, and unforgettable moments that lay ahead. WWE's bold rebrand signaled not just a return, but a reinvention, promising to captivate the wrestling world once more.

May Season 1 | Nitro | Week 1

Match #1: 10-Woman Battle Royal | WCW Women's Classic Championship
Bianca Belair and Asuka started off the battle royal. Bianca immediately speared Asuka to get off to a very hot start. The next entrant at #3 was Rhea Ripley. They all continued to brawl until Molly Holly came out at #4. All the women continued to focus on inflicting punishment rather than going for eliminations and Becky Lynch came out at #5. Charlotte Flair followed at #6 with Lita coming out later at #7 and Eve Torres entering 8th. Rhea Ripley finally got the first elimination, sending Molly Holly over the ropes before knocking her off the edge, and Bianca followed suit with a very similar elimination on Asuka. She didn't watch her back well enough though as Rhea capitalized on her immediately with her second elimination of the match. Trish Stratus then entered the fray at #9 and finally the last entrant, Chyna, came out at #10. Rhea got her third elimination by sending Charlotte flying over the top rope and not long after, Becky Lynch used a neckbreaker on the apron to eliminate Chyna. Again Rhea capiatlized on an elimination of another woman by tossing Becky over right after. Then Lita came charging at Rhea and tried to eliminate her but she dodged and used her momentum against her to send Lita out. It was down to Ripley, Stratus and Torres. Torres countered Stratus' Stratusfaction to send her flying over the ropes but was immediately grabbed and sent out after her by Rhea who secured the title with her seventh elimination of the match. Rhea Ripley is the first ever WCW Women's Classic Champion!

The younger, quicker Jimmy and Jey Uso were simply too much for Nash and Hall in this one. Hall started things against Jimmy but was simply getting out-sped and never even managed to tag Nash into the match. After getting hit by a superkick from Jimmy followed by a Samoan Drop and Uso Splash he was only saved by Nash's interference. But things continued from there and Jimmy took out Nash while Jey continued to go to work on Hall, eventually catching him with a Spear to grab the win and qualify for the WCW World Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Ladder match.

In an electrifying contest, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin squared off against Batista for the coveted first spot in the upcoming WCW World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4-Way match. From the opening bell, the intensity was palpable as both competitors brought their A-game. Batista's sheer power was on full display as he dominated early, using his strength to keep Austin grounded. However, the Texas Rattlesnake’s resilience and veteran savvy came into play, countering Batista's offense with precision strikes and relentless aggression. The turning point came when Austin evaded a Batista Bomb, countering with a swift Stunner that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Despite a valiant effort from Batista, Austin’s experience and tenacity proved too much to overcome. With a decisive three-count, Steve Austin emerged victorious, securing his place in the highly anticipated Fatal 4-Way match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

The match started with Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins, two men who have history from when they faced off in Cody Rhodes' first match after rejoining WWE from AEW back in 2022. Rhodes gave it his all eventually beating Seth with a Pedigree, but he would need to go through six more men to win the title. Out at #3 was Finn Balor. Rhodes caught Balor with a Cross Rhodes early but it wasn't enough to beat him and used all the energy he had left. Balor took control from there eventually knocking out Cody with a Coup de Grace. Next up was Booker T though who after a hard fought fight with Balor took him down with a Scissor Kick and a Book End before Bret Hart came out at #5. Two US and Heavyweight champions of the former rendition of WCW were now in the ring which summoned a huge applause from the fans. Booker hit an Axe Kick, Scissor Kick and Book End but it wasn't enough and in his frustration was caught with a Sharpshooter by Hart and forced to tap. Bron Breakker, the son of Rick and nephew of Scott Steiner came out next with a head of steam looking to capitalize on a weakened Hart, but his naivety got the best of him and he was quickly locked into a Sharpshooter and forced to tap. Next was the Fiend and Hart outwitted him, rolling him up to get the pin against the monster. The last entrant was Kurt Angle, but Angle wisely stayed out of the ring forcing Hart to play an unorthodox game. He was eventually able to smash Bret into the post then land multiple blows on his knees by smashing them against the steel steps. He rolled Hart back into the ring and locked in the Ankle Lock forcing the submission specialist to tap out and securing the WCW United States Championship!
