MACtion? Nah
WACtion?
that was one problem I had when I started with Ball State on 25. First season is a bit of a challenge with a shitty defense. After that it's gravy

Name is nuts. Easy money is a bit of a stretch, but that's another dub regardless.

I'm trying to recruit as realistically as possible, so that we don't fly up the rankings too quickly. Defense is certainly an issue. But yes, the MAC is baby food thus far.

Golden Flashes continues slow build, teams sniffing around OC Prince
KENT, Ohio - As the Kent State Golden Flashes continue to enjoy their most successful season in years heading into the bye week 6-3, its time to take a quick look at the future of the Golden Flashes as they grow their 2027 Recruiting Class.
After suffering a tough battleground loss for Ohio wide receiver, two-star recruit Cordell Tam to rivals Bowling Green, the Golden Flashes are pivoted, entering the bidding for two-star wide receiver Duke Campbell out of Lakewood, Ohio. Campbell, a 5-foot-9, 188-pound do-it-all talent, has kept his recruiting wide open waiting for some bigger programs to start sniffing around. Louisville, Arizona, and California are among the teams interested while Delaware and Kent State are the ones with offers being reportedly drawn up as we speak.
Bowling Green is thoroughly in the lead for Youngstown's tight end, two-year Mike Levine with Boston College and Arizona State also interested. Levine, at 6-foot-1, figures to be changing his position once he gets to college to either wide receiver or running back due to size concerns.
Free safety Zach Carter out of Fairfield, Ohio and kicker Scotty Abbott out of Toledo, Ohio are two-star recruits who are forecasted to be handing their commitments over to the Golden Flashes soon. This comes after two-star free safety Jelani Keyton hard-committed to the Golden Flashes over the last two weeks, wrapping up his recruitment officially.
You would be hard pressed to find a team that has turned things around as thoroughly as Kent State has. Two years under Mark Carney has seen the Golden Flashes go from a team that went winless in 2024 to rattling off 6 wins through 9 weeks heading into their bye week. Most of the credit should go to Carney, who took said winless team and brought them to 5 wins in his first season, but pundits around the nation are starting to give offensive coordinator Khalil Prince his roses.
"The offense is so dynamic," one MAC analyst wrote. "They beat you so succinctly in so many different ways. He has the benefit of some serious gamers, but his ability to scheme those athletes into positions to overwhelm his opponents is noted. Teams in the Power 5 are starting to do their homework on him."
Teams such as NC State, Iowa State, and Mississippi State are the frontrunners who will no doubt be looking to turnover their offensive regimes. The Wolfpack have already parted ways with offensive coordinator Kurt Roper after a 1-7 start, averaging 18.6 points per contact and averaging 367.9 yards per game, finishing third lowest in the ACC. Another team that might be turning things over is the Bill Belichick-led North Carolina Tarheels. Hiring the former New England Patriots head coach has been nothing but controversy and disappointment, as they are currently 2-6 while sporting 4 conference losses.
