Prior to tonight's tip-off against the Bulls, Chicago' legend Derrick Rose was in the building to discuss Tiny's farewell season.

"I love Tiny, man. He's done a lot for this sport & he keeps on giving.."

"Derrick, you & Tiny were teammates for two years in New York on the Knicks."



"What did you learn about him as not only a player but a person off the court?"

Before Derrick could answer the question, Tiny Jimenez quickly interrupted the interview & showed love to his former teammate.

"You better make me look good, Pooh!!" Tiny said with a laugh as he put his hand on Rose's shoulder.



They both laughed & shared a quick hug before Derrick Rose returned to the mid-court interview.

"That's it! You see it right here!! Oh, man, what a surprise.. He's a great teammate.. & he's an even better friend. He's a father. He's a family man. He's an icon."

"He's done so much for the game. The league is truly going to miss The Shogun when this season ends.." Derrick Rose said.

The Suns defeated the Bulls 104-96 at the United Center.

"Hey, Omari, man... All the battles over the years. Thank you, brother." Tiny said as he took off his jersey & swapped with Omari Christopher from the Bulls.

"We had some wars, didn't we?"



Tiny Jimenez & Omari Christopher played their first game against each other on December 24, 2023. The Knicks would go on to defeat the Boston Celtics 108-97, with Jimenez scoring 24 & Christopher scoring 18.

"It's been a pleasure, my brother."



Tonight, barring a trade deadline deal, the two played their final NBA game against each other in Chicago.

Following the theatrics of Tiny's conclusion in the United Center, the 17-year veteran sat down for questioning in the post-game press conference.



"Tiny, you've played in this building for nearly two decades, against multiple generations of Bulls teams. When you think about Chicago, what comes to mind first? The competition, the fans, or the history of playing in the city that produced Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan?"

"Honestly.. respect. This city knows basketball. They don't clap because your name is on the back of the jersey. You earn it here. Every time I came into this building, I knew I was gonna get everybody's best shot. That's the way it should be."

"I've won games here, I've lost games here, I've been booed here, I've been cheered here. That's sports. But respect has always gone both ways."

"Tonight wasn't just another road game. It was likely your final appearance in Chicago as an active player. Looking back, how has your relationship with this city changed from when you were a young star trying to beat the Bulls every year to the veteran everyone here stood to applaud tonight?"

"I used to walk into this arena wanting to silence everybody. Tonight, I walked in appreciating that I even had another opportunity to compete here."

I just looked around for a second and thought... man, I've really been blessed to do this in the same arena that so many greats have competed in."

"Your résumé already includes championships, MVPs, Finals MVPs, and success with multiple franchises. Years from now, when people discuss the legacy of Tiny Jimenez, what do you hope they'll say mattered more than the numbers?"

"I hope they say I respected the game. Records get broken. Somebody's gonna win more championships. Somebody's gonna score more points. That's just the way sports work."
