Players To Watch

Bill Connelly, ESPN: Let's call a spade a spade: as much as we might be intrigued by how Kent State quarterback Dru DeShields might navigate this ferocious Ohio State pass rush (even without stud edge rusher Beau Atkinson available due to a broken leg), or how Da'realyst Clark will fare against a Ohio State secondary led by star cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr. - there are only two players worth watching in this one. Quarterback Julian Sayin is a Heisman hopeful who has the Buckeyes' offense firing on all cylinders and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith - probably the best player in college football despite a slow start. This one might get ugly for KSU.

Experts Evaluations

Tom Fornelli, Writer: "Backups will be in by half-time. Kent State's goal should be to score more points than Ball State did when they had their turn getting belt from THE Ohio State in Week 1."

Richard Johnson, Writer: "Even with Beau Atkinson prepared to sit out as Ohio State's sacrifice in their win against Texas last weekend, the Buckeyes should have no problem taking down Kent State. They really have a cookie-cutter schedule until Week 7 when they take on Indiana (yes, that involves you, Iowa. No one believes in you."

Chris Hummer, 247Sports Writer: "My editor has made me rewrite my prediction three different times because they have apparently been too 'provocative'. We all know what's going to happen on that field should be [redacted] from public viewing."
