Crisis mode in Tottenham? Spurs are at an important crossroads that will define their season
Down to ten man and trailing 2-0 to Liverpool, Spurs manager Kwamele Owusu opted to not make a single substitution or change in what could be described, at best, as a disciplinary decision against his players that were on the pitch, and at worst, a temper tantrum thrown by the third-year manager.
This comes at the worst possible time for Spurs as they lead second place Arsenal by only four points with seven games left in the season and are up to face PSG in the Quarterfinals of the Champions League. They battered the Parisians in the group phase but the knockout phase is a different animal and with their cushion in the league gone, they no longer have the luxury of resting their players in league play.
They open the month of April against Watford in the FA Cup before playing PSG (A) two days later. In between the two legs is Crystal Palace, away, before returning home to play Wolves. The month ends with West Ham (A) and Brentford (H), at least giving Spurs the luxury of not leaving the confines of London upon their return from Paris.
Xavi Simons is back training with the team and is likely looking at being available for the clashes against PSG. Adrian Truffert will miss the FA Cup tie due to being sent off against Liverpool while Valentin Barco is currently on personal leave due to a family matter.
