Chicago, IL. - Once Leonard Lawry stopped getting in his own way, the Pittsburgh Steelers made quick work of the Chicago Bears.

Lawry threw two first-half interceptions — both converted into points by Chicago — and found himself staring at a 10-7 deficit midway through the second quarter after his second turnover set up Romeo Doubs' 25-yard touchdown. It was the kind of start that could derail the afternoon for a player with less poise, but Lawry once again showed the moxie his coaches have praised since his acquisition.

Pittsburgh responded with 28 unanswered points, methodically dismantling a Bears defense that had no answer for the Steelers' offensive firepower once Lawry settled in and protected the football. By the time the dust cleared, a 10-7 hole had become a 35-10 commanding lead, and the final score of 42-17 reflected just how thoroughly Pittsburgh controlled the afternoon once the early turbulence passed. Isiah Pacheco added a feel-good fourth quarter touchdown for Chicago's final points, but the outcome had long since been decided.

Defensively, Pittsburgh's unit held Caleb Williams — the former Heisman winner now in his fifth NFL season — to 258 passing yards while generating five sacks and limiting the Bears to 255 total yards without a single third-down conversion. It was the kind of performance that has become a weekly expectation for Brian Flores' group rather than a pleasant surprise.

The Steelers improve to 5-0 and return home next week for a homecoming of sorts — Leonard Lawry facing his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, for the first time since Pittsburgh acquired him in last year's draft day trade.
