Getting to the end of a good season here. What are your goals for next year?

Ceasar difficult to answer: from one end, I want to grow 'the Ajax way' (meaning: keep what we have, add homegrown to the squad) - which means that after a title, I want to get a good run in UEFA Champions League; at least do better than this season (meaning: querter finals). However, the reality for a club of the smaller leagues is when the bigger teams of Europe come to take your star players away, it has a huge impact on what we're able to do in Europe.

A team like Ajax will always play for the title of at least for European tickets. But how far we can get in Europe depends on how much of the squad we can keep intact and furthermore a little bit of luck with the draw.

ONLY MATHEMATICAL CHANCE LEFT TO MISS THE 2027 TITLE

  • Ajax have one hand on the Eredivisie championship shield, after a 3-0 win against NAC Breda. Kasper Dolberg scored twice, while Daan Rots made his first in an Ajax jersey
  • Only losing all, while PSV need to undo a gap of six points and 31 goals with two games to play. It's theoretically possible, which is why Ajax cannot call themselves champions yet
  • With the Dutch Eredivisie about to lose a European ticket for next season, the fight for 4th (Europa League qualifying) and 5th (Conference League) is heating up: Twente and Utrecht dropped points, with AZ Alkmaar closing in

TITLE NOW, CELEBRATIONS LATER
  • Ajax are champions, but celebrations will take place next week after the home game against Heerenveen.
  • In a soaking wet Volendam, the match between the top and the bottom side had very little to do with proper football. Ajax secured the title with three goals in the first half.
  • Ajax-head coach Daniel Marzec there are still goals to achieve: 'We need to play like the champions that we now are: we stand at 96 goals scored, or aim is to make that 100! Also, I want a fitting thank you for veteran and departing players, especially Steven Berghuis who's retiring.'
  • In other matches, PSV won at AZ Alkmaar who're now out of the running for European football. But because Feyenoord won at Twente, while Utrecht defeated Heerenveen, the battle for fourth place is still on!

CHAMPIONS IN STYLE! 100 GOALS...
  • Ajax did what it set out to do! A 4-0 win over Heerenveen resulted in exactly 100 goals scored this league season
  • After the 100th goal, by means of gratitude, Ajax-head coach Daniel Marzec allowed veterans Davy Klaassen and Daley Blind, the departing Jorthy Mokio and the retiring Steven Berghuis to enter the pitch.
  • Utrecht managed to catch Twente for 4th place! Therefore, Utrecht will plays Europa League qualies, while Twente moves into the group stage of Conference League 2027/28

Congratulations and well done. Ajax fans have waited long for this, and to do it with a century of goals and an unbeaten record truly shows quality and perseverance. Great job.

I liked the substitutions vs Heerenveen, it's a good thing to say goodbye and show appreciation this way. Berghuis retiring - but since when did he become a defender?

Undefeated season and a century of goals! Congrats. Can't wait to see who your next signings will be.
