Recap: Tiny Jimenez Wins It At The Horn For The Suns After A War With The Rockets

Image
Jimenez called game over Houston's Dillingham as time expired in the Toyota Center.

Another one! Tiny Jimenez has proven time & time again that he isn't afraid of the spotlight. In fact, he embraces it.

"The inbound play was originally drawn up for [DJ] Porter to get the ball after slipping a screen.." Suns' AJ Griffin revealed. "But Tiny said 'No, give it to me. I'm going for the win'."

Jimenez was 0-5 from behind the arc prior to knocking down the game-winner. But he made the one that mattered the most for the Phoenix Suns.

Basketball fans have been treated to many heroics from Tiny Jimenez over the years, including game-winners in the playoffs & the NBA Finals. 17 seasons in & nothing has changed for the man who wears #32.

Phoenix returns to action at home tomorrow in Phoenix as they host the visiting Sacramento Kings (15-20). The season series is currently tied up as the Suns beat the Kings on Nov. 6 (128-119), & lost 2 weeks later on Nov. 17 (99-91).

Track IV: HOUSTONFORNICATION
► Show Spoiler
After celebrating the game-winning shot with his teammates, the Suns' players left the locker room & headed for the team bus back to their hotel.

That is, until..

"Hey, Tiny Jimenez!" a voice called out from afar.

Tiny acknowledged the woman, still sporting her Houston Rockets' dance team attire, & began to approach her.

"Yes?"

"Great shot tonight!" the woman said as she praised his buzzer beater that broke the heart of every Rockets' fan in attendance.

"Thank you, but shouldn't you be upset? I mean, I did just beat you.." he said with a smirk.

"Maybe I should be.." she replied with a playful shrug. "But watching you hit that shot in person? Kinda hard to stay mad at you after that.."

Tiny chuckled softly as she stepped a little closer, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

Image

"Besides..." she continued, glancing him up and down for a second. "We already lost the game. I figured I might as well try leaving the arena with a win somehow."

Tiny raised an eyebrow immediately.

"Oh! You got it like that, huh?!" he said, clearly unexpecting what she just said.

"Mhm.." she hummed confidently. "And judging by that smile? I don't think I'm doing too bad right now."

"You're bold, for sure. What did you have in mind?"

"I don't know.. You could take my number & tell me what hotel you're staying at.. What room number.. & maybe I can pay you a visit?"

Flattered by the moment, Tiny's phone suddenly buzzed with an incoming text message from Noor.

"..One second." he said as he read the message in his head.

Image

(Game winner was nice. Look at you… finally shooting with confidence.)

"..You know." the woman interrupted, trying to bring the focus back on her.

"I give really great massages.." she said as she slid her finger from the top of Tiny's shoulder & down his arm.

"Is that right?" Tiny responded, still distracted by the text from the one he really likes.

"Mhm.."

"I'll tell you what. Message me online & I'll get back to you." he said as he began to turn around & board the team bus.

"What? Wait! You didn't even ask me my name.." she said, trying to draw him back & gain some trust that there's still a chance.

"What's your name?"

"..It's Jessica.."

Tiny nodded slowly as he stepped onto the first stair of the team bus.

"Jessica..."

He nodded once.

"Yeah, that's a cool name."

Jessica smiled immediately as Tiny looked back at his phone trying to come up with a response for Noor.

"All right. I've got to run but you have a nice night, Jess."

"Wait..." Jessica laughed. "I'm going to hear from you, right?"

"Mm..."

He thought about it for a second like he was genuinely weighing the possibilities.

"Let's let fate decide.."

Jessica stared at him before bursting out laughing.

"What does that even mean?!"

Tiny pointed at her once.

"Exactly."

He took his seat on the bus & typed up a response for Noor.

(What can I say? I don't miss. 😏)

Aaron Christmas took a seat beside Tiny on the bus & asked who he was just talking to.

Image

"Her name was Jessica.. She offered to give me a massage." he said as they both laughed.

Noor responded to Tiny's text.

(You make one difficult shot and now you've forgotten all of your misses. Interesting.)

"You see that! That's maturity right there. The Tiny I first met would've taken that down on the spot. Now, my boy is all grown up." Aaron said as he jokingly patted Tiny on his shoulder.

"Probably her & her friend.." he said while typing up a text.

(Hey. One of these days my shot's going in. You'll see.)

"Anyways, bro. Good job out there tonight. Let's get some sleep so we can be ready for another one tomorrow." Aaron dapped Tiny up before leaning back in his seat to close his eyes.

(Easy there, cowboy. Last I checked you're still shooting 0 for...💁🏻‍♀️catch my drift?)

Tiny grinned to himself as he put his phone back in his pocket & prepared to close his eyes as well. Just when he thought he was making some progress with Noor, she reminds him just how far away he truly is.
