Seeing Cantona with the long sleeves and all, this is a most welcome nostalgia fix. It truly is. He was my favourite player back then, even though I was probably drawn towards United by the goalkeeper in the first place. I am from Denmark after all.

This was Cantona's last season, right? And he's playing great for them. I hope we can beat them in Highbury in a couple of months.

1996/1997 was indeed his final season as a player.

Yes it was his final season. Stepped down at the age of 31. The same age Wayne Rooney had, when he left United. Seeing the contributions of players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs into their late 30's, it is a shame that these players didn't have the same longevity to their game. Or the same lust or discipline to keep performing as long as possible.

Too bad losing to Everton on Boxing Day.

Tough loss but that red card complicated things. The clashes between Arsenal and United in the 2000s will be amazing. I can't wait.
