Bam Adebayo faced off against his Olympic teammates Anthony Davis, David Grace, and LeBron James. Despite currently having a winning record, this has been an up and down season for the Miami Heat as they returned back to South Beach after a loss to the Celtics. Even without Jimmy Butler (hamstring), Miami actually had a chance to steal a rare victory from the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite being down big, they climbed back in and tied the game twice. What looked like a promising start for Tyler Herro soon fizzled out in the second half as he only scored three of his 11 points in the third quarter before going out with a strained hip, putting more pressure on the rest of the Heat to try and pull off a win against the Lakers.
Takeaways
Lakers
Los Angeles continues to struggle with their back court. Someone will have to step up if this team wants a shot at the NBA Cup. Wall and Sasser struggled to get anything going tonight. Despite the Heat being without star player Jimmy Butler, the Lakers didn’t pull away until late in the game when a few well timed threes finally found their way into the basket.
Heat
Miami is definitely missing the impact of Jimmy Butler as can be seen by their fourth quarter collapse after fighting so hard for three quarters to remain in the game.
Key stat
4 points for Miami off of 10 Los Angeles turnovers.
Key moment
Corner three by David Grace to seal give Miami double-digit lead late in the game.
