Team News: Pickford out against United, Heaven starts against former club

By: Callum Ridgeway | February 23, 2026
Everton Correspondent

Merseyside - Everton will host Manchester United this afternoon without captain Jordan Pickford between the posts. The England keeper is ruled out for the second straight game due to his training injury. Mark Travers will start in goal for the Toffees, who come into this one playing a 4-4-2 diamond shape. Aydin Heaven will start against his former club. The centerback is going to play left back tonight and most likely shift into a back three when in possession.

Everton XI - Travers, O'Brien, Agbadou, Branthwaite (c), Heaven, Garner, Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Fuhrich, Richarlison, Barry

Man United XI - (5-2-3) Lammens, Amad, Yoro, de Ligt, Shaw, Dalot, Casemiro, Bruno, Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko

Everton last five - LLDDL
Man United last five - WDLLL

Great read so far. I really like the layout with the league table and leading stars in terms of goals, assists etc., even supplying the top 3 in the Championship as well. I may find some inspiration in this in my own future updates.

I like the Heaven signing. Since United have went back to 4 in the back, he's found minutes hard to come by. So a move to Everton makes perfect sense, even though I (United fan) still rate the player highly. Bringing back Richarlison also makes perfect sense.

I'll make sure to keep up with future updates. Good luck mate.
