PHOENIX — Tough game for the Suns as the Mavericks came to town & ended up on top. While DJ Porter Sr. contained Mo Cash in the post, the other two brothers led the Mavs in scoring & ultimately put the Suns away.

For the Suns, Recks Black scored a game-high 24 points, & DJ Porter Sr. followed with 20 points & 15 rebounds.

"Dallas brought it on the defensive end of the floor. They forced us to take some really tough shots & they were the better team today." Tiny Jimenez told DS.net post-game.

While Mo Cash was contained with just a 9 points & 5 rebound performance, backup Aron Boylan stepped up & dominated the glass with a game-high 18 rebounds.

The Phoenix Suns are now 1-1 in the NBA Cup standings after today's loss to the Mavericks & will have a chance at redemption on the road against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

Midway through the second half of the Mavericks & Suns game, Tiny Jimenez was subbed out & took the seat at very end beside AJ Griffin.

"Man.. Fucking Keon Ellis is burning us from outside.." Tiny said to AJ as he took a seat visibly frustrated.

"Yeah we've got to stop leaving him open." AJ replied.

At that point, a females voice could be heard shouting at the two.

"Hey Tiny Jimenez!"

He doesn't notice the woman but instead reacts to a whistle on the floor.



"Come on! How was that a foul?.." he said as he tossed his hands in the air.

"I really like your style!" The voice returns as the lady tries to get his attention again.



He looks in her direction but doesn't focus on her, nearly like he hasn't heard her because he's focused on the game.

She tries to get his attention a third time when AJ Griffin & Malaki Branham chime in.

"I think she's trying to say something to you." AJ says as he nudges Tiny.

With his full attention, he turns to the woman & waits for her to speak.



"Can I style you!?" she asks.

Malaki Branham turns around & glances at the woman with a big grin.

"Style me?"

"She's trying to say you can't dress fool!" Malaki said as he laughed with Tiny.

"Send me something." Tiny said as he got up from his seat to move away from the distraction.

"I'll send you something!" she shouted one last time.

(What an unusual encounter..)

Tiny laughs it off before checking back in the game for the Phoenix Suns.

Kanye Crawford dialed in the late triple that secured the win for the Kings against the Suns.

SACRAMENTO — It was a tough Tuesday night in Sacramento for the Phoenix Suns as they picked up their second straight loss. Despite losing Gilbert McCaw midway through the first quarter, the Kings managed to push out ahead with a dominating third quarter. The Suns were forced to fight back in the fourth, & nearly did, until a couple of late baskets from Kanye Crawford signed the win for the Kings.

"They disrupted our entire offensive gameplan tonight." Suns head coach, LeBron James, had to say following the loss. "We'll rewatch the film tomorrow. It looked like our guys struggled to get to their spots & it forced a tough shooting night for us."

Westley Hunt led all scorers tonight with 24 for Phoenix. Tiny Jimenez followed behind with 22.

"They just out worked us. We got our butts beat tonight." Tiny Jimenez said to DS.net after playing his final game in Sacramento with a looming retirement at this seasons end.

The Phoenix Suns will be out of action until Sunday when they'll host the Orlando Magic in Phoenix.

"Let's Go Lady Knights!"

Despite the rigorous NBA schedule of constant travel & media, Tiny & the Suns found themselves with 4 days off. This means he got to do what he loves the most: be a Father to his children.

It's a no-brainer that everyone in the building has their eyes glued on the NBA superstar as he sits front row, but he only has his attention on one thing: The Saint Mary's Lady Knights.

"Let's go Lady Knights!" Tiny shouted as he was in attendance to support his daughter, Autumn.

A freshman at Saint Mary's High School, Autumn has shown tremendous progress as a basketball player & is the starting point guard on the varsity team.

Standing at just 5'4", she uses her shiftiness & ball handling to her advantage, making it hard for defenses to guard her.

Trailing by 1 point at 51-50, the Lady Knights found themselves in possession to take the final shot of the game.

The ball is inbounded to Autumn, who calls for a play that will see the senior shooting guard come off of a screen for an open look. In a split second, the senior is tripped by the defense (a missed call by the referee) & Autumn has to take the game into her own hands.

6 seconds left.



"Attack! Attack! Use your right!" Tiny shouts from the stands after realizing the play was ruined.

Autumn attacks with her dominant left hand but the defense shuts her down. She goes behind the back to her right, leaving the defender on her left side with a wide-open lane. Three dribbles. Pull-up mid-range jumper at the buzzer..

The shot falls just short. After bouncing on the rim a few times, the ball eventually falls right & the game is over.

Saint Mary's loses 51-50 & it's an instant heartbreak in the gymnasium. A crowd that was just jumping out of their seats has silenced & the score was final.

Tiny dropped back into his seat & grabbed a few pieces of popcorn to snack on from AJ's box.

"Damn! She was so close!" he said to AJ, Autumn's twin sister, after missing her first potential game-winner.

The frustration mounted on his face after being engaged in the game since the tip.

"I know! I feel so bad for her.. You & her have practiced that shot for hours!" AJ replied.

She turned around to the Saint Mary's student section & threw her hands up. Faces were disappointed & heads drooped low.

No head drooped lower than that of Autumn's.

While she held her composure after the game & into the locker-room, when she first saw her Dad after the game, she lost it.



"I'm so sorry I let you down tonight, Dad.." she sobbed as her father embraced her in his arms.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You didn't let me or anyone down tonight, Autumn! In fact, you've made me the proudest Dad I've ever been.. You took that jumper with confidence! That's MY daughter taking the last shot for Saint Mary's. It just didn't fall.."

She continued to cry while her sister AJ cried in the background having to see her sister, & best friend, in this headspace.

"I could've won that game! It's all my fault!" she replied, crying heavily into his shirt.

"You were great out there, kid. You did everything you needed to do. The play fell apart & you had to do what you had to do.. We've all missed game-winners.. Me, Recks, Khyri.. God knows I've missed that last shot a bunch of times in my career.. It's part of the game. But you grow from it & you're ready the next chance you get."

She continued to sob in his arms.

"Hey, Autumn.. Don't ever forget this feeling. The fact you care this much says so much about you as a person. There will be more chances to win the game. You've been fifteen for three days, girl! Your future is so bright. Keep working & forgive yourself a little tonight.. You'll have another opportunity to win the game."

She wiped her eyes & looked her father in the eyes.

"Okay."

"Okay?! Hey you had a great look tonight. You showed me everything we've been practicing. When you can't go left, explode to the right & look for your shot. You won't always make them but you'll have another chance in a future game."

She wiped her eyes even more & hugged her Dad one last time.

"I'm so glad you're here, Dad." she said as she squeezed him.

In that moment, it made sense to Tiny why he was retiring from the NBA. As a father, moments like these are what living is worth.

"C'mon. Let's go home. I'll stay up with you all night long working on that shot. We can stay up as late as you want!" he said with a laugh.

"Don't make promises you can't keep!" Autumn replied as she began to crack a smile.

"But what if I just want to forget basketball for a moment & watch a movie with you tonight, Dad?"

"I said we'll stay up as late as you want! If it's a movie, okay. I promise."
