What’s the wins goal this season?
Per the contract it is 4. I want 6 because I want to make another bowl game but this season looks tough.

Duke is overrated, you could easily be 5-0 by the time we hit LSU
There is no way we are 5-0 by the time we get to LSU. Duke and Minnesota will both be tough.

season will be decided here
Yes, this is the gauntlet. Hopefully not a BTA each week.

Gotta win against Minnesota, Troy, Southern Miss and Vanderbilt going into that LSU game.
Yeah, if we can't build up that momentum it will be a long season.

Game Preview
Mississippi State kicks off the 2027 campaign heading out to Durham, North Carolina to take on the #12 Duke Blue Devils. This will be a good test for the Mississippi State offense that returns their leaders in each category but had a lot of turnover on the offensive line and also in the receiving corps. Deion Riddick and Shakir Allen will need to make their impact alongside Tank Hawkins in order for Luke Kromenhoek to get the passing game going.
On the defensive side of things Derion Gullette returns after being the best defensive player last season in the country. He will need to have Jamarcus Moye provide pressure on the defensive line in order to be more effective. Dejuan Lane, a transfer from Penn State, leads a secondary that boasting a new starter at each position. Look out for Lonnie Maddox, a sophomore cornerback, and what impact he can make this season.
If the Bulldogs can get the offense rolling and maintain a check on the Duke passing game this could be a competitive game that might end up in an upset for the Bulldogs.
