vs.
PHX | 22 | 24 | 25 | 27 | 98

NEW ORLEANS — The Phoenix Suns traveled to New Orleans for a back-to-back against the Pelicans tonight. The Suns looked to bounce back after a loss in the season-opener & did exactly that after narrowly escaping New Orleans with a win.
Tiny Jimenez righted his missed opportunity last night with the game-winning bucket tonight. A foul from Darius Vann sent Jimenez to the line to extend the Suns' lead to 2. A full court heave from LaMelo Ball at the buzzer would seal the win for Phoenix.
Stepping up for the Suns tonight on the offensive end was DJ Porter Sr., who added 16 points to go along with an impressive 20 rebounds.
"I always have to put on for the city of New Orleans." Porter Sr. told DS.net. "This arena always feels like home whenever I return."
For the Pelicans, Morgan Sauce scored 23 points to go along with 6 steals in a intense matchup against former teammate, Recks Black.
"He's my brother but when we're on the court there is no friendship." Sauce had to say in tonight's post-game press conference. "We're competitors & with someone like him, there's no letting up or he'll punish you for it."
The Suns will be off tomorrow as they travel back to Arizona for their home-opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It was a pretty high stakes matchup. I have a lot of fun with this roster so far. A bunch of different options I'm not used to having

Suns Let The Lead Go Late In The 4th In Their Home-Opening Loss Against The Thunder
Regular Season Game 3: October 24, 2037- Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
vs.
OKC | 27 | 28 | 26 | 32 | 113
PHX | 35 | 26 | 21 | 26 | 108

Hans Hasselhoff led all scorers tonight with 36 as the Thunder toppled the Suns.
PHOENIX — Suns' fans left the Footprint Center tonight with disappointment after their superstar-studded lineup have lose their 2nd of the first three games.
The first half was electric. Westley Hunt was on a scoring tear & it looked like the Suns were going to unstoppable this season. Then something changed after half-time. OKC tightened up their offense, executing play after play & picking apart at the Suns' defense. Then the morale began to drop after the team only scored 21 points in the third.
"We collapsed tonight. We weren't the same team we were in the first half. We came out flat on the offensive end & played their game." Suns' head coach LeBron James told DS.net.
The stats looked great tonight on paper for the Suns. Reck Black with 29 points. DJ Porter Sr. dominated with 19 rebounds. Westley Hunt & Tiny Jimenez both added 23 points a piece. Jimenez also pitched in a triple-double. If this team is going to be successful, they'll have to lean on each other when the going gets tough.
The Suns will get a chance to bounce back from tonight's loss on Monday as the visiting Miami Heat will travel to Phoenix.
Phoenix Suns' Top Performers:

Recks Black: 29 Points, 6 Assists, 11/24 FG, 3/5 3PT, 4/5 FT
Tiny Jimenez: 23 Points, 11 Rebounds, 10 Assists, 9/15 FG, 2/5 3PT, 3/4 FT
Westley Hunt: 23 Points, 8/13 FG, 3/4 3PT, 4/4 FT
DJ Porter Sr.: 14 Points, 19 Rebounds, 3 Blocks, 7/14 FG
Oklahoma City Thunder' Top Performers:

Hans Hasselhoff: 36 Points, 4 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 14/28 FG, 3/7 3PT, 5/5 FT
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 25 Points, 8 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 5 Steals, 7/17 FG, 3/5 3PT, 8/8 FT
Ulric Salisbury: 15 Points, 9 Rebounds, 5/13 FG, 5/10 3PT
Jaden Ivey: 15 Points, 6 Assists, 5/10 FG, 4/7 3PT, 1/2 FT

Westley Hunt was dialed in during the first quarter, knocking down all three of his 3 point field goals.

Suns' rookie, Terrance Walker, got a reaction from the Suns' bench after flushing down 2 points over Jaden Ivey.

#SunsUp!

29 points from Recks Black tonight in the Suns' loss against the OKC Thunder.

The Suns’ Biggest Obstacle Isn’t the Competition — It’s Tiny Jimenez.
By The Athletic, Stan Dover

Tiny Jimenez's announcement to retire from the sport of basketball isn't just a coincidence. It's an acceptance. An acceptance that an aging & fading superstar, with no shortness of accomplishments, isn't always going to be the hero that kids around the globe look up to. In fact, those days ended for Tiny Jimenez long before his announcement from the NBA.
He's a former MVP, he's an NBA champion, multiple time All-Star, & he's an Olympic Gold medalist. We watched him grow from a sixth man role his first year in the league to an arrogant superstar that isn't as much of a team player as his stats suggest.
Basketball aside, it's really Jimenez's off-court personality that rings like a sour note. From groundbreaking discoveries outside of our own solar system, to finding his own social media app, Tiny's desire to always be noticed will never fade, unlike all of his past relationships with multiple mothers to his flock of 9 children. He's not a role model & while he may have had fun along the way, his legacy will forever have a stain because of his actions.
It's one thing to announce your retirement from basketball, having every city roll out the red carpet for fans to witness you play for the last time in your career. It's another to invite two superstars along for the ride with Recks Black & DJ Porter Sr.
The NBA will continue to push their former star atop the headlines, thus feeding his greed even more. His ego needs more.
The writing is on the wall for Tiny Jimenez. He'll finish this season, make his millions, & ride off into the sunset while we're all left disappointed with what could've been. What should've been.
If you've watched the Phoenix Suns first three games, one thing you'll notice is that Jimenez always has the ball. He wants to take the final shot. He doesn't want to pass unless it will lead to an assist & he's the reason why the team is failing to take off.
At best, he should take a backseat role behind Black & Porter Sr., but if LeBron James is really serious about competing for the Larry O'Brien trophy, he will have Tiny be the fourth option behind Westley Hunt.
Once the Suns' front office realizes that wasting money on two superstars for 1-year deals (that will position them exactly where all Tiny Jimenez-led teams go [which is just outside of the Finals]), will they realize that trading him this past offseason was the smartest decision for their franchise moving forward.
Now, we're going to be forced to watch the Tiny Jimenez Show in Phoenix, while two other stars play their best to protect his image during the Farewell Tour.
The Suns don't have to fear anyone standing in their way for an NBA championship except their own cancer on the team, Tiny Jimenez.
