Titans unable to close the deal on top safety Brandon Jones
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed safety Brandon Jones, inking the former Denver Bronco to a three-year, $39.4 million deal.
Jones was one of the top safeties available in free agency and a top free agent target for the Titans as they look to replace Xavier Woods. The Titans went all in on Jones and in the process, potentially missed out on other potential replacements such as Kevin Byard III, a former Titan, who signed with Cleveland for just $6 million.
Another name that the Titans have been linked to is former Texans center Jarrett Patterson. The former sixth round pick started fourteen games last season and gave up just three sacks all of last season, coming in two games against New England and Indianapolis.
Notable NFL Transactions
WR Zay Flowers (4yr/$99.1m)
WR Jameson Williams (3yr/$51.5m)
LB Patrick Queen (3yr/$42.1m)
LB Bobby Okereke (2yr/$28.1m)
CB Marlon Humphrey (1yr/$21.7m)
DT Gervon Dexter Sr. (3yr/$52.1m)
LB Jack Campbell (3yr/$51.4m)-

Former Giants head coach Brian Daboll added to Titans coaching staff
Brian Daboll will be joining the Tennessee Titans coaching staff, which remains without a permanent head coach as the franchise has yet to hire a head coach with free agency on the way.
Daboll, whose been serving in an advisory role for interim head coach Steve Jackson, was present at the NFL Draft Combine as part of the Titans contingency that also included general manager Malcolm Francois Jr. and Jackson, who has been the team's interim head coach since Brian Callahan and the Titans mutually parted ways in January.
The timing of Callahan's departure, after many other top candidates had already been hired, led to the Titans opting to start the offseason with Jackson as the interim head coach while continuing to interview other candidates, including LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, former Colts head coach Shane Steichen, former Bears head coach Ben Johnson with reports of a meeting between Francois Jr. and current Stanford general manager Andrew Luck.
Daboll is listed as an "offensive assistant" on the Titans staff directory.

I like Daboll. Although the wording of it doesn't seem like he's going to be the head coach
