2034 MEDIA GUIDE
THE SCHEDULE

Boise State will have a very similar schedule to last season kicking off their season with a pair of early non-conference matchups before starting Pac-12 play and then ending with a non-conference matchup in Week 13.

The Broncos will host Duke in Week 1.. BSU and Duke played each other a couple year's ago in Durham at Wallace Wade but now it's the Blue Devils turn to make the trip out West.

BSU will then play @ Colorado in Week 2 kicking off their Pac-12 play before taking a trip to the "Big House" as they take on #13 Michigan in Week 3..

BSU will return home to host BYU in Week 4 then a road trip to Salt Lake in Week 5 to take on the Utes before a Week 6 "Bye Week"

Boise State will then host Arizona (Week 7) travel to Corvallis for a Week 8 matchup with Oregon State then back at home to host Cal in Week 9 and #15 Oregon in Week 10. The Broncos will then hit the road again @ Washington State and @ #19 Arizona State in Weeks 11 and 12 to close out Pac-12 play.

The Broncos will then take on former MWC rival UNLV in Week 13 at home for "Senior Day"

THE ROSTER

QB
RS SO Tobias Barksdale (91)
“The former #1 Overall/ and 5* Recruit from the 2032 Class lived up to expectations once fully healthy. Barksdale led the Broncos to their 4th National Championship game throwing for 4447 yds with 41 TD and 12 INT despite just playing in 12 games. Another 4 games and who knows maybe he joins the Heisman conversation.

RS JR Nate Exum (82)
The UAB transfer showed why he was able to throw for 3430 yds with 30 TD and 5 INT for the Blazers as he appeared in 6 games throwing for 1408 yds with 14 TD and 0 INT well completing 69% of his pass’s. Exum considered the portal but returns to backup Barksdale.

FR Kyle Mast (80)
A 3* Athlete Recruit who had a great spring at QB.. He will likely see action in 4 games before redshirting to save a year of eligibility.

FR Keegan Biggums (76)
A 4* Recruit who will rotate with Mast as the teams #3 likely playing in up to 4 games before redshirting.

RB
RS SO Greg Stock (95)
The former 5* and #1 RB in this class, Stock joined the transfer portal but ended up resigning with the Broncos as he looks to take over RB1. Stock appeared in 1 game as a True Freshman rushing 18 times for 112 yds with 1 TD and had a reception score as well. He then was buried on the depth chart last year playing in just 3 games rushing the ball 13 times for 43 yds (3.3 avg).

RS FR Addison Daniels (88)
A former 4* Recruit who redshirted last year.. With 94 speed he is the faster then Stock and should see plenty of carries as the teams #2.

RS JR Devon Lockett (77)
A 3* transfer from UMass, Lockett appeared in 12 games last season rushing 35 times for 201 yds (5.7 avg) with 1 TD.

FR Trevor Chesley (78) and FR Coco Jean (82)
“Both 4* Recruits who will redshirt with the return of Stock and the addition of Lockett.. Jean was recruited as a WR but moved to RB in the spring. He appears to be a similar mold to Angel Coker/Jermarcus Boykins”

FB
RS SR Max Davis (90)
“A former TE who moved to FB last year and was the lead blocker for a RB group that put up almost 4000 yds..

RS SR TJ Lainer (76)
“Another FB/TE Hybrid who provides additional blocking near the goal line at 6’5 246

FR Jaylen Abbot (68)
Last year’s Idaho Gatorade POY will redshirt and likely move into the starting role next season with the graduation of Davis/Lainer.

WR
RS SO Enrique Chance (94)
The former 5* had a breakout year last season leading the team in receptions (112) yards (1344) and touchdowns (22). Listed at 6’5 he has become Barksdale #1 target inside the redzone.

RS FR Tye Shelley (91)
A former 4* who redshirted last season but with Zentner and Carr leaving for the NFL early and no additions from the transfer portal to take over, Shelley is the next man up. Like Chance he is listed at 6’5 and should provide another huge target.

RS JR Felix Donahue (92)
A transfer from Wisconsin last year, Donahue spent most of the season as the teams #4 WR but still managed 30 rec for 402 yds after posting 43/582/7 with the Badgers in 2032. He will take over as the team’s Slot WR which should allow him to push into the 1000 yd club this season if he stays healthy.

RS JR Caleb Bromell (88), RS SO Taylor Brazill (81) and RS FR Calvin Wells (77).
“This trio will complete for the #4/#5 jobs. Bromell has the inside track after playing in all 16 games last year recording 6 rec for 73 yds.

FR Dillion McCallum (74)
Another 4* Recruit who joins the room but will redshirt likely joining the depth chart next year should Chance/Donahue declare early..

TE
RS JR Scott Fowler (86) RS SO Steven Strong (86)
With the graduation of John Mackey Award winner Larry Ika there is no clear cut #1 TE.. Fowler (19 rec 242 yds 1 TD) and Strong (25 rec 346 yds 5 TD) will likely share the load.

RS SO Bryce Alba (82) FR Kenyon Proctor (76)
On most teams Alba would be starting and Proctor likely playing as a True Freshman. However with Fowler and Strong sharing the #1/#2 role, Abla will provide depth as the #3 well Proctor will redshirt

O-Line

With 5 of your Top-6 players graduating and with 3 of them now playing on Sunday, you would think this unit would be taking a major step back but they really are not. RS SR Quinn Punga (99) started 8 games last season rotating in for injuries and appeared in all 16 games logging almost 1000 snaps. He will shift to LT this year and anchor a very good line.

LT RS SR Q. Punga (99)
LG RS JR B. Pride (91)
C RS SO R. Sizemore (96)
RG RS SR M. Dora (93)-Tennesse Transfer
RT RS SR D. Battles (93) (has played in 30 games over 3 seasons)

Reserves
OT RS JR M. Brink (87)
OG RS JR E. Cole (89)
OG RS JR J. Fries (86)
OT RS JR J. Adkins (81)
C RS SR R. Uzomah (87)
OT RS FR E. Nwaneri (76)
OG RS FR E. Goodley (74)

Redshirting
OT FR S.Kikaha (82)
C FR T. Coons (76)
OT M. Gouveia (77)

D-Line

RS SO Nick Parker (89) RS SO Leati Oshinowo (84)
Both guy’s are former 5* Recruits who combined for just 4.5 sacks last season but will get a 1 more chance to prove they are capable of being Star’s.

RS JR R. Miranda (78) RS FR T. Roth (75) and RS SO V. Bender (83) provide plenty of depth off the end leading to the Broncos redshirting 3 incoming 5* Recruits from last year’s class.

FR B. Acho (81), FR E. Shaw (80) and FR G. Igbinoghene (81)

RS JR Damien Kern (89) will be the man in the middle.. Kern logged 46 tackles with 16 TFL and 5.5 sacks last season. He will be joined by either RS JR T. Bouchard (48 tackles 14 TFL 2.5 sacks) or SR TY Calloway (88) a West Virginia/BC transfer who has just 3.5 career sacks or RS JR M. Trewyn (78) a former 4* recruit who has played in 17 games over the past 2 years.

Linebackers

RS SR Darrius Michel (89) played in 33 games for UCLA over the past 3 years and had a solid year last year as a starter logging 76 tackles with 10 TFL and 2.5 sacks.

SO Tye Hoppes (85) is a former 5* Recruit who played in all 16 games last season as a True Freshman logging 70 Tackles with 3 TFL and 1 INT.

RS JR Bo Jansen (85) is a former Missouri Tiger transfer who logged 76 tackles last season for the Broncos.

With BSU playing a primary 4-2-5 Defense these 3 will rotate in as starters.

RS SO B. Wear (80), RS SO R. Randall (82), RS FR R. Burr (76) and and RS JR J. Dixon (81) provides plenty of depth which means incoming FR J. Streeter (77) and 5* Recruit/FR Jayson Benzschawel (83) will both redshirt.

Secondary

SR Roland Finley (89) and RS JR Barry Stack (90)
The former 5* Recruits and classmates of the 2031 class will finally start together on opposite sides of the field with Quincy Forest leaving for the NFL. Finely tied Forest for the INT lead last season with 7 and has 15 in his career.. Stack played in just 12 games last year but still managed to post 5 INT.

RS SR Maka Moreau (93) and RS JR Terrance Tubbs (91) return as the team’s starting FS and SS meaning that 4 of the 5 starters from last season that produced a nation leading 30 INT’s are all back.
RS SR M Darnold (86), RS SR A. Killebrew and RS SO Delvin Yancey (86) will battle it out for #5 spot in the starting rotation well the other 2 provide great depth ready to start in case of injury.

RS FR O. Bryant (77) RS SO R. Gibbs (73) RS JR E. Bartee (77) and RS FR W. Cantwell (73) provide additional depth allowing 5* Recruit Finau Bacon (79) a chance to redshirt.

Special Teams.

RS FR Nick Mateo (79) takes over as the team’s PK with the graduation of Cedric Eagles. RS JR Rickie Walters (83) returns as the team's punter.. Walters punted 46 times with a 44.9 avg and followed it up last season with 47 punts for 42.4.

**With the graduation of B. Myers and A.. Coker leaving for the NFL as well, BSU will have a new duo on Kick/Punt Return duties this season. For now it appears that WR’s C. Bromell and T. Brazil will most likely be the primary returners but Stack and Moreau could also see time as both players are considered to be the fastest players on the team.

ROSTER BREAKDOWN

Boise State will play with just 75 players on the roster this season. and with just 12 Seniors after several key players have left early for the NFL.. The rest of the roster is (21) Juniors, (15) Soph's and (27) Combined Redshirt and Redshirting Freshman.

Of the 6 Seniors on Offense 4 are on the O-line making the it another key recruiting priority this season. Of the 6 Seniors on Defense, 4 of them are starters in the Secondary making it another key area of focus for the Bronco Staff

Boise is officially a monster.
We come in ranked #3 in the Top-25 Pre-Season poll and are 1 of 4 teams that have 99 grades across the board (Georgia, Texas and Alabama being the other 3). So yeah we are pretty good. I am going to do a pretty major conference shakeup next season in 2035. and right now I am leaning toward the Big 12.. Overall it's much stronger then the Pac-12 top to bottom and if I potentially move Arizona State with me that would give me that rivalry to continue to build on as well as start up one with Texas and Oklahoma as well as TCU/Oklahoma State.

I feel like regionally they just don't fit in the Big Ten but I have considered that as a possibility with Oregon, USC and UCLA joining them to make up a Big Ten West Division

Others receiving votes LSU, West Virginia, Houston, Missouri and ECU

Not going to lie, I am a little surprised I didn't at least get some votes toward #1. As one of 4 teams rated (99/99/99) I feel like this team is more then capable of making a run at a 3-Peat.

Happy Thanksgiving to all those reading/following along... I hope you had a great day with your families. It was a great day for me despite some sadness. For the past 21 years my wife and I have celebrated Thanksgiving on my wife's family cattle ranch here in Eastern Oregon. However my father- in-law -passed this past June and the ranch is currently up for sale so we had Thanksgiving with my wife's sister and her new husband and their 5 kids as well as my Mother in-law in town.. Food and fellowship was still great though. However more sadness came. I started a new job this past July and have to work tomorrow so no 4 day weekend for me.. Also one of our many cats who we have had for the past 13 years is battling kidney failure and we will have to put him down tomorrow. He will be missed..

As far as this Dynasty goes. I am making some tweaks for the upcoming season and seasons to come. I watched the video shared by Redsox and will be adjusting my Quarters to 10 minutes this season and I might even consider 9 minutes against low level opponents. with a Accelerated Clock and a 25 second Min Play Clock.

I moved the Max Transfer Per team to 7 with User Chance set at 30 and CPU set at 15.. I am hoping that this will force me to be better with my roster management and force me to find PT for guy's as well as make it a little hard to just reload via the Portal. This year I had 17 guy's on my Big Board from the Portal but only landed 5 with 1 of them being my own player who (Stock) who decided to return. I thought it was interesting that the #1 player in the Portal was a CB from Tennessee who also resigned with the Vols.

I also adjusted some of the penalty sliders. I felt like I was getting way to many holding calls but also not seeing alot of other calls. I also made some tweaks to wear and tear and will probably look at doing a system (die roll) similar to several of you to have players miss weeks to force myself to play backups.

I am also going to be looking at some different slider sets for actual game play. I fell like I get great games (playoffs, and conference games against Oregon/UCLA/Arizona State) but then have stupid blowout games like the 101 points against WSU/Utah State/Fresno State ect. I would like to change that.

In 2035 I plan on doing a major Conference Overhaul. I am leaning very heavily toward moving BSU and Arizona State to the Big 12 I feel its still a fit regionally but would give me a better overall conference in terms of harder teams to play (Texas, TAMU, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska,)

The other idea is the Big Ten bringing back Division and creating a West Coast Division (Oregon,USC/UCLA/Arizona State/BSU) against a Big Ten OG Division of (Ohio State/Michigan/Pitt/Penn State/Notre Dame

Some of my thoughts are the Top-60 rated teams would make up the Power 5. The Big Ten would be just that 10 teams. The Big 12 and Pac-12 would be 12 teams and the ACC and SEC would have 13 teams each then put 14 teams in each of the MAC/Sun Belt/MWC/CUSA/American with some stragglers as Independent.

BRONCOS EXTEND HOME WINNING STREAK TO 18!!!

GAME RECAP

Freshman Ty Shelly won the job in the spring camp and showed why as he took the opening play 79 yds to the house to give Boise State their first points of the 2034 season.

Duke would waste little time though, tying the game as Villami Steed (90 ovr) pulls in a 38 yard scoring strike from QB Antwuan Louis (82 ovr) to make it (7-7).

A Tobias Barksdale INT would kill another Bronco scoring opportunity leading to a 37 yd FG making it (10-7) and then after a failed 4th and 1 run by Greg Stock,, Duke would extend their lead to (17-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter as SR RB Ladarious Redfield (87 Ovr) caps off a 9 play drive with a 2 yd touchdown run.

BSU would push back though in the 2nd Quarter as Barksdale shook off his early INT with a pair of touchdown passes to Chance to give BSU the (21-17) lead with 3:20 to play in the half.. Then it was Duke’s A. Louis who would throw an INT to SS Terrance Tubbs to set up a Nick Mateo 37 yd FG as BSU goes into the locker room up (24-17).

Duke would open up the 2nd half with the ball with a chance to tie things up but their drive stalls as they settle for a 36 yd FG to make it (24-20). Neither team would mount much offense for the rest of the 3rd Quarter but with 55 seconds to play Barksdale and Chance would hookup for the Hat Trick as they connect on their 3rd scores in the game on a 11 yd strike as BSU extends their lead to (31-20) going into the 4th.

Duke would open up the 4th Quarter scoring as Louis and Vilami Steed hookup for their 2nd big play this time for 52 yds to make it (31-26). Duke would leave the Offense on the field looking to convert the 2pt play but the Bronco D was ready.

RB G. Stock who had 15 carries 58 yds and 4 rec for 46 yds in the 1st half finally finds the endzone midway through the 4th Quarter with a 1 yd touchdown run as Boise State extends the lead to (38-26) A turnover on downs would lead to another Nick Mateo 31 yd FG with 2:51 to play as the Broncos looked to seal their Week 1 victory taking a (41-26) lead but Duke never gave up and with 1:01 to play in the game Louis would find Silas Fitzsimmons on a 21 yd scoring strike as the Blue Devils pull within 8. Duke would attempt the onside kick but the Bronco hands team was ready.. Left with just 1 timeout, Duke was forced to watch as Boise State runs out the clock extending their home winning streak to 18 games..

4* DT Lamont Yazzie (#133 Overall/#4 DT) is joining him. Listed at 6'5 304lbs from Gillete WY. Yazzie was this year's Wyoming Gatorade POY (#1 WY) and like Kearns scouts believe him to be a "Gem" who could be a instant starter after a redshirt season.

Colorado opened up the 2nd half with the ball and quickly scored cutting the lead to (35-27) but that's as close as they would get as BSU answers right back with Stock's 3rd rushing touchdown.

Boise State would extend their lead to (49-27) early in the 4th as backup RB Addison Daniels scores his first career touchdown. Colorado answered back with another as JR QB Dave Martino (85) hits SR WR Deonte Abraham (84) for a 2nd time in the game to cut the lead to (49-35) with 3 minutes to play but BSU would tack on a 42 yd FG by Nick Mateo to close things out.

They are still good They are a 95 Overall but just had a bad game. In CFB25 when I was a FIU, I hate a fierce rivalry with Miami when Coach Miller started his HC career at FIU. Pretty sure he is still only .500 against them.

BRONCOS HOT START LEADS TO TOP-25 WIN!!

GAME RECAP

Boise State jumped out to a early (17-0) lead in the 1st Quarter behind a pair of touchdown runs by RB Greg Stock.. Both teams would trade INT's as both QB's throw a pair including each on scoring drives inside the endzone.. Still trailing (17-0) JR QB Alexander Keener (90 ovr) would bounce back from his 2 earlier INT"s with a big pass play hitting Rico Brink (92 ovr) on a 74 yd bomb to cut the lead to (17-7) but the Broncos answered back with Stock's 3rd rushing touchdown of the half to take a (24-7) lead into the locker room.

Michigan opened up the 2nd half with the ball but would settle for a 32 yd FG to make it (24-10) Both teams would trade punts for most of the 3rd before BSU finally gets back on the scoreboard with a 20 yd TD pass from Barksdale to Tye Shelley from 20 yds out as BSU extends the lead to (31-10) going into the 4th.

Michigan opened up the 4th with a a 26 yd TD pass from Keener to Quan Marcus (87 Ovr) to cut the lead to (31-17) but that's as close as they would get as both teams close out the game with a pair of turnovers on downs
