Vince Kroger throws for 334 yards, 2 TDs but can't finish the job against No. 2 Miami
The Kentucky Wildcats defense forced two turnovers in the second half, giving the Wildcats a chance to cut into Miami's one point lead but they were unable to do so as the Hurricanes survived Lexington with a 38-20 win, scoring seventeen unanswered in the fourth quarter to win their SEC opener on Saturday.

The first of two fumbles in the third quarter came with Miami leading by a point and the ball on the Kentucky nineteen yard line when Kaseem Dalton fumbled the ball. Kentucky would fail to get past their fifty-yard line before punting the ball and two plays later, true freshman running back Tony Slye put the ball on the ground inside Miami's 45-yard line, giving Kentucky the perfect opportunity to retake the lead.

Miami's pass rush would be relentless, sacking Vince Kroger and taking him out of field goal range on third and eight, forcing Kentucky to punt the ball once more. Miami's offense, led by Terrance Harris, would go on an eleven play drive that ate up most of the fourth quarter and ended with a field goal.

Trailing by four, the Wildcats would once more fail to convert a key third down, going backwards on third and one from their twenty-two yard line which resulted in a punt. Harris would complete six consecutive passes before finding Broderick Booker on a screen pass for the touchdown with 1:52 left in the game, putting the nail in Kentucky's coffin.

Any concerns with the secondary after getting cooked through the air like that? Fumble definitely didn't help but.
