JAYHAWKS RECRUITING

Kansas Bolsters Offensive Line with Addition of Chester Bitonio

Kansas' red-hot recruiting momentum continued as the Jayhawks picked up a key commitment from Chester Bitonio, a four-star offensive tackle out of Saint Paul, Nebraska.

Bitonio, standing 6'5" and weighing 316 pounds, brings an ideal combination of strength, footwork, and quickness to the offensive line. Known for his excellent pass protection skills and strong run blocking technique, Bitonio has the agility to hold up against speed rushers and the power to dominate in the run game. His rapid acceleration off the line of scrimmage and high football IQ make him a natural fit for Kansas' fast-tempo offense.

Bitonio also stands out for his mental approach to the game, described by coaches as tough, resilient, and composed under pressure. He projects as an early contributor and potential future anchor on the right side of the Jayhawks' offensive line.

While Kansas celebrated Bitonio's addition, they did miss out on one major defensive target. Four-star safety Brian Bee from McKinney, Texas opted to commit to Ole Miss, dealing a slight blow to the Jayhawks' secondary recruiting efforts.

Despite the setback, Kansas' 2029 recruiting class continues to climb. The Jayhawks now have 10 players committed and boast the No. 8-ranked class in the nation with 185.05 points. They also hold the top class in the Big 12, with Houston trailing behind at No. 15 nationally with 151.90 points.

Kansas head coach Jordan McAlary and his staff have built serious momentum on the trail, putting together one of the nation's most balanced and physically impressive classes.
