Coach Singleton's Post Game
Q: What happened on the final play that resulted in the touchdown?
A: Just a coverage bust, really. Not sure what our guys saw but someone came off their zone, tried to make a play, I guess, and we let him get deep on us. These are the type of things that can't happen and we'll address it and go forward.
Q: This was your first game as a play caller at the Power 4 level, was there a big difference?
A: I've played in the NFL, coached in the NFL, coached in the SEC, football is football. I called the plays how I normally called the plays, made the necessary adjustments but ultimately, we didn't get the job done but I don't know if Power 5 or Power 4 has anything to do with it. We played Auburn last year tough, LSU the year before that so football is football to me.
Q: What are some key areas that the team needs to improve on
A: I need to look at the tape but watching it live, I felt like we took turns in fucking up. Our tackling was piss poor in the first half, really struggled in the running game but then once we got that patched up, we really struggled in coverage and didn't get much of a pass rush. (Ernest Willor Jr.) had a good game but outside of that, our defensive line never got off the bus. We're relying on some big guys up front to make plays and be playmakers and they just didn't show up.

Coach Singleton's Notes:
‣ Confidence hit after last week but this is a favorable matchup up front, especially at tackle. We need to do a better job of getting after the quarterback and if the front-three isn't enough, we have some flexibility to bring pressure as the receiving corps isn't as threatening as Pittsburgh's.
‣ We need to put hands on Max Klare when he goes out for his routes as he picks up steam the more ground he covers.
‣ Corners need to do a better job of turning and running when in deep zones. Twice got beat for touchdowns in cover 4 against Pittsburgh which is inexcusable.
‣ Need more from Stewart Sullivan after last week's dud
