Spurs fall short of historic treble season in Champions League final loss to Barcelona
Champions of Europe.

The only blemish in an otherwise successful season, Spurs fell 2-1 to Barcelona in Rome on Saturday to fall short of winning of a European treble.

The Premier League title was retained with authority. They won yet another FA Cup under manager Kwamele Owusu but yet this season feels a bit incomplete without that elusive European silverware. The real one.

The addition of Victor Osimhen was a firecracker for Spurs, who finished with forty-eight goals in all competitions and that's with him going through a bit of a dry spell towards the end of the season. Osimhen was godsend for an attack that had to go spells without Rodrygo and ultimately ended the season without Mohammed Kudus, the ultimate what-if for how the season ended in Rome.

The summer additions of Scott McTominay and Reece James as they returned to England proved to be the right touch. James might have lost a step but he's still an effective defender and perhaps the true captain of the squad while McTominay gave the midfield some sturdiness and structure.

Konstantinos Tzolakis replaced Vicario with ease and proved to be an upgrade. So was the 19-year old Demba Sambou who was a high priced addition in the summer and ended the year with a few blemishes, which is to be expected of a teenager that played fifty games across the Premier League and Champions League football.

The supporting cast was equally impressive. Bergvall emerged as the player of the second half of the season, carrying the creative burden during Xavi Simons' two-month absence with a series of performances, braces against Manchester United and PSG, goals in FA Cup ties, putting him on the borderline of being a legitimate star.

Cole Wright's emergence was perhaps the most unexpected subplot of the campaign. The 18-year-old American prospect, brought in quietly as depth cover in the winter following a string of injuries, ended the season having scored in a Champions League Semi Final away at AC Milan and started an FA Cup Final.

What comes next is the real test. The treble remained one win away.

But for now, two trophies sit in the cabinet, a Champions League Final was reached, and Tottenham Hotspur can legitimately claim to have fielded one of the most complete squads in their history. One regret does not diminish what was, by any fair measure, a season for the ages.

Removing all the points from the standings at the end of the season is wild.

Nice job on the double. Good luck going for the threepeat.

Yeah, a lot of the graduates aren't progressing the way I had hoped so they will be sold this summer

It's because I can no longer access the standings after the season so I had to go off the job market which has the order but not the points

A little cheesy, but if you search them by name in the scouting tab, you can see their potentials.

Ahh, good to know although doesn't change much. They all had high potential which is why I signed them although I guess with dynamic potential, it could have went down

Just progression is going a lot slower than I thought it would. I thought at least one of them would be high 70s/low 80s by now.
