Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another as the Titans took care of the Carolina Panthers 24-6 on Sunday to move closer to clinching a playoff spot and the AFC South.
Carolina's running game, led by Chubba Hubbard, and an interception on Tennessee's second drive off a dropped from Jaivian Thomas led to an early 3-0 lead for the Panthers but it was all Tennessee after that as D.J. Lagway struggled to get it going in the passing game while Ward and the passing offense came online for the Titans.
Lagway finished 14 of 23 for 110 yards before being benched in favor of Bryce Young who didn't fare much better, yielding just four yards on seven attempts.
Following the interception, Ward led a long touchdown drive in the second quarter that was buoyed by a 24-yard completion to Ja'Kobi Lane before finding tight end Seydou Traoe for the touchdown. He opened the second half scoring with a 43-yard completion that set up the touchdown to Elic Ayomanor before keeping it himself on the scramble on third and goal from twelve yards out.
