Rooting for you against Strasbourg. My favourite team in my country was eliminated by them in the Conference League Qualifiers, mostly due to three separate goalkeeping mistakes on the day by an otherwise capable goalkeeper. Hopefully Fiorentina can do what Brøndby IF could not!

Moretti last ten matches with Fiorentina before receiving the sack only days before the Quarterfinals.

Matteo Moretti SACKED after Inter defeat amid front office disagreements

Florence, Italy -
In less than a week, Fiorentina will be taking the pitch in leg one of a European quarterfinals round. Matteo Moretti will not be on the sideline managing the Viola for that match or any others in the near future.

On Wednesday morning, only days after losing to Inter Milan, the club has confirmed Moretti has been dismissed from his duties and his contract terminated.

The Italian lasted ten matches, losing only once. He moved Fiorentina out of the relegation zone and continued their run in Europe but rumors of being the scenes tension, player morale and the chairman’s own lack of confidence became the ultimate end for Moretti. Tottenham, Juve and Bayern all expressed disappointment in how their loan players are being used and the chairman himself criticized the tactics of the team.

Moretti doubled down instead of giving him. Seeing his way as the best way to stay in Serie A and get the results needed. Ultimately, the club decided to move on.

Moretti will not be out of work long. Rumors have already started about a meeting with Charlton this week and possibly a call with Espanyol in Spain after that.

Despite having his contract terminated, Moretti showed he has what it takes to win. One loss in nine, winning two European ties and calming a sinking ship. From the outside looking in, this looks like another Fiorentina mistake.

It hit the keepers gloves but, Kean kicked it too hard is what I tell myself. My last good memory before the board told me to kick dirt and sent me packing just because I am mathematically out of the running for a European spot in the league, despite still being in Europe.

Matteo Moretti Announced as New Charlton Athletic Manager

Moretti was 6-3-1 at Fiorentina before the surprise announcement of his departure at the start of April

Charlton, south-east London, England - Nearly two weeks ago, the news broke from Italy that Matteo Moretti was departing Fiorentina after one month in charge. The Italian boasted a 6-3-1 record in Italy, moving Fiorentina out of the relegation zone and battling in Europe before disagreements with the board led to his departure.

Today, news has been announced that Moretti and Charlton Athletic have agreed to a two-year contract starting immediately. Charlton sits in 20th place in the EFL Championship division, four points ahead of the relegation zone after 42 rounds of matches. Moretti will take over for the four remaining fixtures this season.

Charlton will face last place Sheffield Wednesday in five days, Moretti's first match in charge. They will finish the month with Ipswich Town, Hull City, and then Swansea City to end the season.

"I have history in London," the Italian said at his press conference "I loved my time here, and I am very happy to be back. Rumours were true of other offers, but the draw to come back to London was too strong to say no to. I am very happy to be here. After talking with Mr. Carter (Charlton's chairman), the vision he and I have are very connected. They have invested heavily in the youth academy, and I enjoy developing young players and putting a team together of home-grown talent. This season, the focus is on positive results in the last four fixtures, then we will get right into building for the future."

(Switching to a play one, sim two format like I am doing in NHL and NBA. I like the idea that I have to build a good team and not my player skill making results better than they should be.)
