Champions League Playoff Preview

The Champions League playoff tie between Paris FC and Arsenal sets up one of the most intriguing matchups of the knockout phase, with very different trajectories meeting at a critical moment.
Paris FC finished 9th in the league phase of the Champions League, narrowly securing a seeded playoff spot after a strong group run. Arsenal, meanwhile, came in 18th, scraping into this round and under more pressure to justify their European ambitions. Domestically, the contrast is just as sharp: Paris FC sit top of Ligue 1, while Arsenal are 6 points behind Chelsea in 2nd in the Premier League, battling to stay in title contention.
Paris FC’s front three of Lamine Yamal Koleosho (LW), Anthony Martial (ST), and Moussa Poisson offer pace and unpredictability, with Kylian Mbappé pulling the strings from midfield alongside Maxence Lopez. Amadou Doucet anchors the midfield, while a solid back line of Nathan Seys, Abdoulaye Coulibaly, Mbow and Tourraine protects keeper Nkambadio.
Arsenal counter with a dangerous front line of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka, supported by the midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard and Thomas Partey. Their defence, featuring Kieran Tierney, Jakub Kiwior, Gabriel Magalhães, Ben White and goalkeeper David Raya, will be tested heavily across both legs.
First leg is at the Emirates on February 9th, with the return at Stade Jean-Bouin on the 17th.
