Penguins lose Crosby for all important Game 4, Sullivan hopeful injury not too serious

PITTSBURGH, PS -- - The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that team captain Sidney Crosby will be "week-to-week" with an upper body injury he suffered late into Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Bruins.

Crosby was hobbled by a hit from Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov and, despite staying on the bench, did not log another shift for the remainder of the third period. He did not play in overtime, though the period only lasted 24 seconds before Boone Jenner scored shorthanded to give the Penguins a 3-0 stranglehold on the series.

Assistant captain Evgeni Malkin will slide up onto the first liner between Trevor Zegras and Brock Boeser while Jenner will be the second line center between Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust. Emil Bemstrom, originally injured in their previous series against the Carolina Hurricanes., will draw into the lineup onto the third line next to Rutger McGroarty and Philip Tomasino.

Crosby is currently tied for sixth in the playoffs with 13 points with 4 goals and 9 assists. He is second on the team with his 13 points, only behind linemate Zegras, who is second in the playoffs behind Pavel Zacha and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
