Three-star Georgia receiver Adrian Madden commits to the Stanford Cardinal
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
One of the fastest player's in the state of Georgia is heading out west as three-star receiver Adrian Madden has committed to Stanford.
Madden joins a receiving class that includes Damien Yeboah and Kionte Keo. Keo projects as an outside receiver while both Madden and Yeboah have the physical profile to play both outside and in the slot although their slight frames would suggest the slot as their best fit.
A high school quarterback, Madden will need to refine his route running and the small details of the position in order to be an impact player at Stanford but his ability with the ball in his hands and movement skills are what attracted Stanford's coaching staff to pursuing an under-the-radar prospect such as Madden who only held an FBS offer from Stanford and was being recruited by likes of Marshall, Memphis and App State.

T Joe Nunn (Sophomore) Torn Pectoral (Season)
IOL Wayne Hoffman (Junior) Broken Fibula (Season)
HB Anthony Masifilo (Junior) Ruptured Disk (Probable)
Players to Watch
QB Nick Nelson (Fr) | 6′2″, 195LBS | 78 OVR, 84 SPD, 88 ACC, 72 AWR, 87 THP, 82 SAC, 77 MAC, 68 DAC
‣ After beating out another true freshman in JaMichael Jackson, a former Stanford recruiting target, for the starting job, Nelson has managed to get the Irish within a win of making the playoffs. Since his struggles in the opener and against Indiana where four of his interceptions have come from, Nelson has been pretty solid with five touchdown games against Navy and North Carolina. At his best, however, Nelson is a game manager-plus with the ability to pick up first downs with his legs. If this turns into a game where Nelson needs to drop back 30+ times, he is prone to freshman mistakes.
HB Garrison Boyette (R-Soph) | 6′1″, 221LBS | 89 OVR, 93 SPD, 90 ACC, 87 COD, 91 CAR, 87 BTK
‣ Ideally, the Irish would have both but the loss of Amari Stoner, who overtook Boyette as Notre Dame's feature back despite Boyette being a 1,000-yard rusher as a redshirt freshman, puts Boyette back into that feature role where he matches up well with Stanford's defense. He's physical enough to run through arm tackles and has the top end speed that Stoner lacks to take a simply nine yard scamper into a touchdown.
DT Shawn McFoy (R-Sr) | 6′1", 297LBS | 88 OVR, 92 STR, 95 PMV, 91 VMV, 86 BSH
‣ The first step to stopping Stanford's offense is slowing down their running game and McFoy with his running mate Mike Leal are the perfect duo for that. Leal brings a twitched up speed element, despite being the heavier guy, while McFoy packs a lot of power in his compact frame. His improvement as a pass rusher has allowed him to take a big step this season, with 10.5 sacks on the year already and is taking on a younger interior offensive line for the Cardinal which has been impacted by injuries and the need to move guys around.
