USF RECRUITING REPORT
BULLS ADD IN-STATE PLAYMAKER TO GROWING CLASS

Matt Roldan – Wide Receiver
Fort Lauderdale, Florida | 6’4”, 191 lbs | 4★ | #440 Nationally
Matt Roldan’s recruitment was driven by trust in projection and belief in traits that translate at the next level.
At 6’4” with long arms and a naturally high catch radius, Roldan fits the profile of a modern boundary receiver built to win above the rim. His scouting profile highlights exactly what shows up on tape: strong acceleration for his size, confident hands in traffic, and a willingness to attack the football rather than wait on it. He’s not a manufactured-touch receiver he’s a finisher.
Roldan’s size shows up most clearly in red-zone situations and on vertical concepts. He tracks the ball well downfield, plays through contact, and consistently positions his body between the defender and the catch point. His combination of 89 speed and 90 acceleration gives him more burst than most receivers his size, allowing him to threaten defenders early in routes.
USF’s staff identified Roldan as a complementary piece to their current receiver room. Where others in the room bring polish or route nuance, Roldan brings length, vertical presence, and matchup stress. His ability to win fades, back-shoulder throws, and high-leverage third-down targets gives the offense a dimension that can’t be coached overnight.
The Bulls were transparent in their pitch. Roldan wasn’t recruited as a long-term stash, he was recruited as a developmental outside receiver who could earn situational snaps early while building toward a larger role. With veteran receivers nearing the end of their eligibility, the pathway to playing time was clearly laid out.
What stood out most in Roldan’s recruitment was alignment. His proximity to home, comfort with the staff, and belief in USF’s offensive direction all factored heavily. Once the Bulls surged into the lead, they never let go.
Roldan may not arrive as the headline name in the class, but internally, USF views him as a ceiling prospect, the type of receiver whose value compounds as the offense evolves.
