Utah State earns first win of the season behind Faison's 172 rushing yards

Utah State #3 Rahsul Faison takes advantage of Temple's awful defense and walks into the end zone for his second touchdown of the day

-----------------------------------

Just when Temple started to get things going last week, they are back to square one now after today's game. Evan Simon was in the game for three drives. The outcome for all of them? Evan Simon fumbling the ball and Utah State recovering it in their own territory. Evan, I understand that it was raining; but PLEASE HOLD ON TO THE DAMN BALL. STOP CARRYING THE BALL LIKE A BIBLE ON SUNDAY MORNING!

Down 10-0 because his quarterback decided to forget the concept of ball security, coach Anderius Hawkins decided to go with Forrest Brock for the rest of the game. The Brock show was delayed until the second quarter thanks to a 97 yard kick return touchdown by receiver Xavier Irvin. Brock once again showed his mediocre play in the air, only throwing for 4.5 yards per completion. On top of that, Temple gave up five sacks thanks to the combination of poor pass blocking and Brock's inability to escape the pocket despite having similar physical attributes to Simon. At least Joquez Smith is making the most of his opportunity. If this was PPR league in fantasy football, fans would be thanking Forrest Brock for continuously checking down and throwing screen passes to him.

While the offense's struggles did not help, the defense is not free from blame. Ignoring witnessing Forrest Brock getting sacked on back-to-back 4th down attempts in their side of the field which results in an easy 10 points from Utah State midway into the fourth, Temple's defense let Rahsul Faison run all over them all game, finishing with 172 yards. The holes he was running through today were wider than Zion Williamson's DMs for porn stars. Aggie redshirt sophomore center Bryce Radford had 14 pancakes this game. HOW DO YOU LET A LAWN MOWING BUSINESS OWNER DOMINATE YOU ALL NIGHT IN THE TRENCHES?! The other members of the line had 9 pancakes each. THIS ISN'T IHOP!

Temple has many questions to answer before their game against Army next week.

Stopped the run against Navy's triple option, still lost

Stopped the pass against the Veer and Shoot, still lost

Any reason why Brock fell to QB3 after playing better than the starter?

Felt like the offense's ceiling with him is low. He and Simon have very similar attributes, but it feels like Brock is a more limited passer. He has difficulty extending plays, and it doesn't help that none of the receivers can get any separation quickly, if they are even able to, to help him out. Everyone's on a short leash so I wouldn't be surprised if I roll with Brock again.
