Huskies trade Boykin during Rams game
Sebastian Barnes -- Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

The Toronto Huskies have traded wide receiver Miles Boykin to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2026 third round pick and a 2026 seventh round pick.

Boykin, 27, caught 35 passes for 420 yards and two touchdowns in his one season with the team in 2023. He was on the last year of his deal, where he is set to make $3.08 million. The move makes Boykin yet another one-year rental for the Huskies, who shipped him out during the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams.

Toronto is putting a lot of trust into second year wide receiver Richard Leonard to be that third receiver besides Chris Godwin and Rondale Moore.

Inside the Front Office with Assistant GM Stephon White
The 2024 Roster Breakdown
Quarterback
#16 Trevor Lawrence, 3Y | 6'5", 220lbs | Clemson | 90 ovr, 81 spd, 97 thp, 91 sac, 95 mac, 90 dac [CAPTAIN]
#9 Matthew Stafford, 15Y | 6'3", 220lbs | Georgia | 68 ovr, 74 spd, 91 thp, 81 sac, 77 mac, 75 dac
#10 Jacob Eason, 4Y | 6'5", 235lbs | Washington | 68 ovr, 77 spd, 93 thp, 85 sac, 80 mac, 78 dac
#11 Eric Cooper, R :: 6'1", 231lbs | Baylor | 62 ovr, 74 spd, 86 thp, 81 sac, 67 mac, 76 dac

White's notes: Eason played well enough to earn a roster spot but not quite to dethrone Stafford as the backup. Ideally, Eason and Cooper would compete for backup job next training camp.

Running back
#27 Angel McBride, 1Y | 5'11", 231lbs | Wisconsin | 83 ovr, 91 spd, 90 acc, 91 car, 89 btk
#26 Melvin Gordon, 9Y | 6'1", 215lbs | Wisconsin | 74 ovr, 92 spd, 89 acc, 73 car, 79 btk
#35 Sherwin Florence, 2Y | 6'0", 229lbs | South Carolina | 73 ovr, 88 spd, 87 acc, 85 car, 88 btk
#23 Kyree Sampson, 1Y | 5'9", 190lbs | Appalachian State | 69 ovr, 90 spd, 90 acc, 79 car, 69 btk
Devonta Freeman, 10Y | 5'8", 206lbs | Florida State | 69 ovr, 90 spd, 87 acc, 78 car, 83 btk
#40 Brent Lowe, 2Y | 6'2", 255lbs | Arizona State | 76 ovr, 69 spd, 85 str, 67 pbk, 91 lead block, 67 rbk

Roster Cuts: Bryce Love, Cade Carney

White's notes: Gordon and Freeman were top performers in preseason, tough for Freeman to likely spend one of his last seasons on IR. Love and Carney familiar with system, likely candidates to go after should injury occur.

Wide Receiver
#12 Chris Godwin, 7Y | 6'1", 205lbs | Penn State | 93 ovr, 92 spd, 92 acc, 98 cth [CAPTAIN]
#14 Rondale Moore, 3Y | 5'9", 180lbs | Purdue | 83 ovr, 97 spd, 94 acc, 79 cth
#82 Aaron Fuller, 4Y | 5'11", 188lbs | Washington | 72 ovr, 95 spd, 96 acc, 77 cth
#83 Chase Claypool, 4Y | 6'4", 228lbs | Notre Dame | 71 ovr, 88 spd, 88 acc, 83 cth
#81 Richard Leonard, 1Y | 6'2", 175lbs | Charleston Southern | 70 ovr, 95 spd, 91 acc, 76 cth

Roster Cuts: Nelson Agholor, Gary Jennings

White's notes: Would have liked to have a veteran presence in Agholor but upside of Fuller and Claypool too high to pass up on.

Tight end
#88 Brycen Hopkins, 4Y | 6'5", 245lbs | Purdue | 74 ovr, 88 spd, 89 acc, 78 cth, 53 rbk
#84 Shawn Starr, 1Y | 6'2", 255lbs | Iowa State | 74 ovr, 70 spd, 71 acc, 59 cth, 72 rbk
#86 Kenny Yeboah, 4Y | 6'5", 230lbs | Temple | 70 ovr, 85 spd, 74 acc, 88 cth, 56 rbk

Roster Cuts: Harrison Bryant

White's notes: A nice bunch here with Hopkins' explosiveness, Starr's blocking ability and Yeboah's reliable hands.

Offensive Line
LT #74 Dominique Vernon, 2Y | 6'6", 329lbs | Washington | 84 ovr, 96 str, 89 pass block, 85 run block
LG #71 Edwin Rankin, R | 6'6", 330lbs | Boston College | 77 ovr, 89 str, 78 pass block, 85 run block
C #53 Netane Muti, 4Y | 6'3", 308lbs | Fresno State | 79 ovr, 97 str, 77 pass block, 82 run block [CAPTAIN]
RG #70 Drew Mackey, 2Y | USC | 81 ovr, 95 str, 81 pass block, 85 run block
RT #75 Collin Nortman, R | Notre Dame | 78 ovr, 95 str, 80 pass block, 81 run block
Backups: #72 T Garrett Bolles, 67 Ovr | #60 G Cole Allman, 66 Ovr

Roster Cuts: T Zack Olson

White's notes: The offensive line is finally coming together with five first-round picks, all great at run blocking. Muti's switch to center is the only question mark.

Defensive Line
DE #92 Chase Young, 4Y | 6'5", 265lbs | Ohio State | 94 ovr, 87 spd, 91 acc, 89 str, 98 pmv, 83 fmv, 82 bsh [CAPTAIN]
DE #98 Matthew Ioannidis, 8Y | 6'3", 308lbs | Temple | 85 ovr, 71 spd, 81 acc, 97 str, 88 pmv, 82 fmv, 73 bsh
NT #94 Da'Ron Payne, 6Y | 6'3", 319lbs | Alabama | 86 ovr, 77 spd, 87 acc, 97 str, 78 pmv, 56 fmv, 85 bsh
Backups: DE #93 Greg O'Neal, 71 Ovr | DE #97 Charles Bell, 70 Ovr | DT #95 Stewart Roberts, 69 Ovr | DT #96 Deadrin Senat, 68 Ovr

Roster Cuts: Willis Powers, Olivier Vernon

White's notes: Young deciding not to hold out was key, need to sign him long term. Moving Young back to defensive end where he had success as a five-technique as opposed to stand up linebacker in base 3-4 scheme. Need to also find some snaps for O'Neal, his potential is untapped.

Linebacker
OLB #52 Nolan Garrison, 3Y |6'4", 250lbs | Notre Dame | 79 ovr, 80 spd, 74 str, 74 bsh, 91 pmv
ILB #55 Cole Holcomb, 5Y | 6'1", 231lbs | North Carolina | 78 ovr, 87 spd, 88 acc, 86 tkl, 82 bsh
ILB #57 Troy Dye, 4Y | 6'4", 226lbs | Oregon | 75 ovr, 82 spd, 86 acc, 87 tkl, 79 bsh
OLB #42 Justin Houston, 13Y | 6'3", 258lbs | Georgia | 71 ovr, 79 spd, 82 str, 79 bsh, 78 pmv
Backups: ILB #50 Telvin Smith, Ovr 71 | ILB #56 Michael Pinckney, Ovr 66 | ILB #54 Christian Jackson, Ovr 62 | OLB #46 Malik Jefferson, 70 Ovr | OLB #99 Joe Jackson, 65 Ovr

Roster Cuts: Josh Harris, Cam Keyes, Anthony Barr

White's notes: Going to utilize a rotation of Houston and Jefferson on the edge opposite of Garrison to try to replace Sweat. Jefferson has all the raw tools to be an elite linebacker but hasn't been able to figure it out as an inside backer, will see if the outside gives him more success.

Secondary
CB #21 Ashley Konrad, 2Y | 5'11", 186lbs | Rutgers | 87 ovr, 90 spd, 87 acc, 95 mcv, 83 zcv
CB #24 Chidobe Awuzie, 7Y | 6'0", 202lbs | Colorado | 84 ovr, 93 spd, 94 acc, 82 mcv, 76 zcv
CB #28 Donovan Bigby, 2Y | 6'0", 181lbs | Colorado | 77 ovr, 94 spd, 93 acc, 83 mcv, 67 zcv
CB #25 Troy Pride Jr, 4Y | 5'11", 190lbs | Notre Dame | 74 ovr, 96 spd, 97 acc, 77 mcv, 68 zcv
CB #31 Dorian Burnett, R | 5'9", 193lbs | Alabama | 68 ovr, 90 spd, 92 acc, 72 mcv, 59 zcv

S #34 Jalen Thompson, 5Y | 5'11", 195lbs | Washington State | 78 ovr, 90 spd, 91 acc, 69 mcv, 80 zcv, 67 tkl
S #33 Jamal Adams, 7Y | 6'1", 213lbs | LSU | 96 ovr, 91 spd, 91 acc, 88 mcv, 93 zcv, 80 tkl [CAPTAIN]
S #20 Keanu Neal, 8Y | 6'1", 216lbs | Florida | 84 ovr, 86 spd, 89 acc, 76 mcv, 76 zcv, 76 tkl [CAPTAIN]

Backups: S #38 Jonathan Abram, 74 Ovr | S #29 Javelin Guidry, 72 Ovr | S #22 Charlie Pelfrey, 72 Ovr | S #44 Jaquan Johnson, Miami

Roster Cuts: Darnay Holmes, Patrick Peterson, Josiah Scott, Troy Apke, Rashawn Jenkins, Jeremy Saxton

White's notes: It was time to move on from Apke, special teams ace for the past few seasons and make way for Pelfrey and Jaquan to replace him as team's top gunner on special teams while also providing depth. Neal will also be feature heavily in looks with three safeties on the field, both at linebacker and in the slot.
