Explosive 3rd Quarter Fuels Baltimore Win

Baltimore, MD. - In a matchup that pitted two of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson reminded everyone why he’s still the standard. On a night when Anthony Richardson officially broke Jackson’s 2019 record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season, it was Jackson’s arm that stole the show — torching the Steelers for 315 yards and four touchdowns in a 38–24 Ravens win that blew open in the third quarter.
Pittsburgh struck first, taking a 10–7 lead after Jackson was intercepted early, but Baltimore quickly regrouped. Jackson led a long touchdown drive to reclaim the lead, then engineered a two-minute drill capped by a field goal to send the teams to halftime tied at 17.
The Ravens came out of the locker room with purpose. Jackson found Zay Flowers for a 37-yard strike to take the lead, then capitalized on a strip-sack by Nnamdi Madubuike that set up his own nine-yard touchdown run. Suddenly, a tight game had turned into a rout.
Even after a 44-yard completion from Richardson to DK Metcalf set up a Jaylen Warren touchdown to briefly close the gap, the knockout blow came moments later. On 3rd and 11, rookie running back Quintrevion Wisner turned a short screen pass into an 80-yard score, breaking four tackles and dashing through the secondary to seal the game.
Pittsburgh reached the red zone twice in the fourth quarter but came up empty both times, including a drive that ended with a holding penalty wiping out a Richardson touchdown scramble.
“You can’t win that way, period,” said a stone-faced Mike Tomlin after the loss. “To march 75 yards, have AR reach the end zone on a gutsy play, and then go backwards because of a penalty on the non-play side? Can’t happen.”
The Steelers (11–2) return home next week to face the Carolina Panthers, looking to regroup as the AFC North race tightens down the stretch.
