Ahead of Spring Camp, does revamped Crimson Tide have enough to contend?

When head coach Lane Kiffin was introduced as the newest leader of Alabama Crimson Tide football, he lauded that heavy is the head that wears the crown. And that all the Crimson Tide is interested in is bearing that burden once more.
Since the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban back in 2023, the Crimson Tide have struggled to climb back up the mountain that is the SEC. They have seen the likes of Georgia and Texas pass them by, with the former taking the helm as the reigning National Championship game after a dominant season.
A disappointing season from the Crimson Tide, finishing the season 7-5, landed former head coach Kalen DeBoer on the unemployment line after three seasons of mediocrity. Kiffin, fresh off another season of leading the Ole Miss Rebels back to relevance, was widely expected to be heading to take on the job with LSU.
That was until Alabama came calling.
"You don't turn a call like that down," commented Kiffin at his introductory conference, flanked by both Saban and Alabama athletic director, Greg Byrne. "To be given the opportunity to join this fraternity and get the challenge of returning them to the former greatness that the man on my left held them to? It was a no-brainer. I had to ensure I was prepared to undergo that assignment, and I'm excited to take it on."
Kiffin wasted no time, ensuring that incumbent young gun quarterback Keelon Russell wasn't going to test the transfer portal after sitting behind current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Ty Simpson for the last two seasons. Russell was widely expected to consider greener pastures when Simpson decided to use his full collegiate eligibility and played last season, but Russell was adamant to stay the course.
Kiffin's big get in the portal would be Fred Biletnikoff Trophy finalist and Shaun Alexander Trophy winner, wide receiver Zane Jones from Syracuse committing to Alabama over Michigan and Penn State, who were fighting hard for his services. Adding the top-flight receiver to join a receiver corps that includes Bobby Golden and Jalen Hale, in conjunction with superstar tight end Kaleb Edwards and running back Khalid Ramsey gives Russell a litany of weapons to start his career with.
"There was no where else I wanted to be, to tell the truth," commented Russell as he checked-in for Alabama's spring camp that is slated to start tomorrow. "Coach Kiffin really has us locked in and believing in ourselves that we're capable of returning to that standard of excellence."
The questions comes from only one category: inexperience. Russell hasn't played any meaningful snaps, and there is a severe lack of veteran experience in the locker room now. Is Keelon Russell prepared enough to take Alabama back to the top of a strong SEC conference with a schedule that seems the Crimson Tide take on the likes of highly-ranked Ohio State, Texas, and Auburn?
The questions remain.
