Chargers acquire Titans receiver Elic Ayomanor for draft picks
Elic Ayomanor is heading to Los Angeles, joining the team that knocked out the Tennessee Titans in the playoffs in a trade that sends a fourth round pick (126) and a fifth round pick (158) to Nashville in exchange for the 25-year old receiver.
A fourth round pick in 2025, Ayomanor was one of the Titans' top receivers as a rookie, catching 74 passes for 892 yards and six touchdowns. He's seen his role reduced in consecutive seasons, catching 29 passes in 2026 and just sixteen last year, finishing the year with 210 yards and four touchdowns.
He joins a thin Chargers receiver room that currently features Ladd McConkey and Tre Harris as the only returning starters and proven players with Ayomanor projecting to be a starter on the outside alongside Harris with McConkey in the slot.
With the trade, the Titans now have ten draft picks in this year's upcoming draft, with the bulk of them residing in the 80 to 160 range with three third round picks, three fourth round picks and two fifth round picks after losing their first round pick in the trade to acquire Justin Jefferson last year.

I'm fucking with the defensive upgrades. The type of moves a team expecting to contend next year would make

You going Patriots with all those picks or you gonna try to trade into the first round?

i don't have a definitive plan in place. After his reduction in role, felt it was realistic for him to want out.
With us extending Ward and likely Jefferson soon, need to have a lot of solid players on rookie deals so might make sense to stay put and just load up the roster and try to find potential starters for the cheap as opposed to just one guy as there isn't a glaring need that will be fixed by a single rookie

Buccaneers select Syracuse two-way star Demetres Samuel Jr. at No. 1
As widely reported and expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Syracuse receiver Demetres Samuel Jr. with the first overall pick. Samuel, who stared at both corner and receiver for the Orange, is expected to be a full-time receiver for the Bucs.
It marks the second year in a row that a non-quarterback has gone first after the Colts drafted Collins Simmons last year. Simmons would go on to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Michigan's Bryce Underwood was the first quarterback off the board, going to the Dallas Cowboys to take over for the retired Dak Prescott.
The first surprise of the first round came at No. 7 when the Bears drafted Cliff Rutledge, who many didn't expect to go in the first round, let alone top ten. Many had pegged Elijah Griffin as the second best defensive tackle in the class behind Amare Adams, who went a pick before to Minnesota. This led to Malachi Toney sliding to No. 9 where the Browns drafted him once C.J. Carr went to the Colts, staying in-state after playing college ball at Notre Dame.
Griffin, widely viewed as a top five talent, ended up sliding to No. 16 where the Baltimore Ravens, as is often the case, were able to take advantage of his slide.

Which of these projected first round picks make sense for Tennessee in the second round?
The Tennessee Titans are finally scheduled to have a draft pick after sitting out the first night the NFL Draft. The Titans, when the draft starts, will have to wait until the last six picks of the second round for their turn to select. Unless, of course, they decide to trade up.
The NFL Draft has seen multiple projected first round picks, most notably Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell, and several prospects remain on the board that had top-30 grades on them. Here are some options that might be on the board when the Titans are selecting:
WR Dallas Wilson | 6'3", 225LBS | 24th Ranked Player | 4.45 40-Yd Dash (7th WR) | 10'5" Broad Jump (1st)
Typical Titans™ Grade A
Fit Grade C
Similar to Ryan Williams last year, another highly touted prospect that has slid down the board. There are some injury and character concerns with Wilson, as well as his inconsistent production, but the athletic profile is very appealing which is why it's surprising that he fell out of the first round, even with those notable red flags.
There was a run on receivers at the end of the first round with three coming off the board in the last three picks so Wilson could very well be gone but with three receivers going in the first eight picks of the first round, a lot of those same teams won't be on the market for a receiver. This will make it interesting for the Titans as Wilson would be that ideal outside receiver to compliment Justin Jefferson, or, worst case scenario if they don't resign him, replace him after next season to pair him with Ja'Kobi Lane.
EDGE Eddie Hanson | 6'4", 271LBS | 33rd Ranked Player | 4.61 40-Yd Dash (2nd EDGE) | 34.4" Vertical Jump (4th)
Typical Titans™ Grade C+
Fit Grade B-
Danielle Hunter is a one-year rental who will either get paid elsewhere next year or retire. Oluwafemi Oladejo has been a decent player for the Titans but not enough for them to pass up on someone that can be a long-term partner with Rueben Bain Jr. coming off the edge for years to come.
The only problem is Hanson might be too similar to Bain as opposed to Oladejo who is a lighter, twitchier option which allows the Titans to give different looks off the edge. Hanson's testing was a bit of an eye-opener as he ran better than many expected and looked to be a better athlete than what he's shown on film as this sort of edge setting defensive end that doesn't provide much pass rushing upside.
S Braydon Burnett | 5'10", 207LBS | 39th Ranked Player | 4.56 40-Yd Dash (8th SS) | 7.05 3-Cone Drill (11th)
Typical Titans™ Grade D
Fit Grade C+
The movement concerns that many had about Burnett on tape proved to be true after his testing where he did well enough in the linear drills such as the forty and the vertical jump but when it came to the 3-cone and the on-field drills that tested his movement skills, the tightness was evident for the 204 pounder.
The good on Burnett's film is really good though which is what earned him first round buzz. He's a high floor, low upside kind of player whose physical limitations might stop him from ever being an elite player but his IQ and physicality should keep him around the league for a decade plus, potentially even as a starter.
While the Titans have Nick Cross signed for a year and are bringing back two young safeties in Rasheem Biles and Joenel Aguero, they could decide to load up on the position and let them battle it out.
QB Julian Lewis | 6'1", 192LBS | 37th Ranked Player | 4.58 40-Yd Dash (2nd QB) | 6.81 3-Cone Drill (1st)
Typical Titans™ Grade A
Fit Grade F
They wouldn't, would they? No, of course not. Probably not. Well...
The reports since the Titans chose not to pick up Cam Ward's fifth-year option have been inconsistent. Some say the move was expected and coordinated with Ward in an effort to push up his extension. Others say that Ward and his camp didn't approve of the move as Ward no longer has the security of that extra year should he get hurt this year.
Either way, drafting Lewis would only fan those flames. The only reason to consider it would be that if he is available, this would probably be the best case scenario to get a succession plan in place for Ward should he decide not to re-sign. If Ward was to eventually leave the Titans, whether after this season or next once the Titans use up their franchise tag options, they are likely going to be picking in the bottom of the first round. Lewis, in most classes, would have been QB2 and in some cases, QB1.
In this class, he could potentially be the sixth quarterback off the board and his skillset matches well with that the Titans want to do at quarterback. If he's there, even without the Ward drama, it might be worth considering since he would still be an asset you can develop and stash.

take Lewis, sign Ward, trade Lewis for picks to fill out the roster next year, when you're really cap strapped after his extension
