Maybe its because I haven't been in therapy for a long time but it feels as though Dr. Mendel's go-to line is to humanize Connie. It doesn't feel like she provides much, but maybe I'm just nitpicking.
Brice getting called out put pure enjoyment in my veins. Coach said you're too pussy
That's a fair criticism albeit intentional. I've mainly been using those scenes as a vehicle for Connie's arc, not necessarily the work that is being done which is what the focus of Brice's therapy sessions are.
"You need to drop your fucking nuts, son," Henson scoffed. "You need to hang in that fucking pocket and stop being a scared little bitch."
A metaphor for life for this pussy ass motherfucker. couldn’t be my quarterback. Ain’t nobody ever called Caine Guerra a scared little bitch!
I don’t think Mel had a strong enough reaction to Brice being a domestic abuser. Should’ve outed that boy to the campus
I’m still predicting the Connie crash out coming
I would say outing him, who is supposed to be your friend, to your friend group, including someone that he is "seeing" without at least giving him a chance to explain his side is a pretty strong reaction lmao
Wondering, did Mel find out about the DV charge before or after Brice grabbed her during the argument. Cause they were all friendly friendly until Serena and the IG post
Connie gonna take a short drop and sudden stop soon?
She found out before which is why when Brice grabbed her, she had that reaction
Yall keep calling me Soapy Perry but are the ones asking for this downfall of this woman
Humanizing Connie is probably the biggest thing Connie needs at the moment to facilitate growth. Woman is struggling with defining herself outside of a traumatic and toxic relationship. Understanding that how and why you're feeling a certain way gives you power, not your abusers, is a big part of breaking cycle patterns of feeling like a victim

And I can accept and respect that. But as Soapy explained, my only real gripe is that there's been no evolution with Dr. Mendel's integration. I know Soapy's aim was to use the character as a vehicle to Connie sorting through her emotions/thoughts, but my comment was really only pointed to her responses feeling very singular. That's really my only point. Not that she's wrong or anything.
For a dude with Lamar-like running numbers, that boy look like Kirk running that thang
