THUNDER VALLEY BREAKTHROUGH: McQUEEN EARNS FIRST CAREER XFINITY WIN
Image
NO. 55 DOMINATES LATE, SURVIVES RESTART TO CAPTURE CAREER-DEFINING VICTORY

Under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway, where tempers flare and legends are made, Logan McQueen III delivered the biggest moment of his young career.

The No. 55 Peak Motorsports Chevrolet didn’t just compete Saturday night, it conquered.

McQueen qualified 12th, putting himself in the mix early on the high-banked half-mile. From the drop of the green flag, the race quickly turned into a battle of rhythm, patience, and survival as long runs and heavy traffic defined the opening stage.

McQueen showed immediate speed, working the middle groove and keeping the car clean while others struggled to maintain track position. Then the inevitable happened as McQueen got tangled up in a wreck. The crew hustled and got him back out quickly and by the end of Stage 1, he had surged forward to finish 2nd, signaling that the No. 55 was a serious contender.

Stage 2 belonged to McQueen.

As the field tightened and aggression ramped up, McQueen found another gear, methodically carving through traffic and taking control of the race. When the stage ended, the No. 55 sat atop the board, his first stage win of the season and a clear statement to the field.

But Bristol never makes it easy.

The final stage turned into a three-driver war between McQueen, Sheldon Creed, and Jesse Love. The trio traded momentum through lapped traffic, with each driver searching for clean air and the right lane to make a move.

That’s where McQueen separated himself.

Navigating slower cars with precision, he consistently found openings that others couldn’t, slicing through traffic while Creed and Love lost crucial time battling in dirty air.

With the laps winding down, McQueen had control, until one final twist.

A late caution with just ten laps to go erased his advantage and set up a pressure-packed restart. It was the one scenario that threatened to undo everything, as McQueen had struggled on restarts earlier in the race.

This time was different.

When the green flag dropped, McQueen nailed the launch. No wheel spin. No hesitation. Just execution.

He cleared the field entering Turn 1 and never looked back.

From there, it was a sprint to history.

When the checkered flag waved, Logan McQueen III crossed the line first, capturing his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory in the SciAps 300.

Behind him, Justin Allgaier and Connor Zilisch rounded out the podium after a chaotic final lap.

For McQueen, it was validation.

“This is everything,” McQueen said in victory lane. “We’ve been building toward this. I knew if we stayed clean and gave ourselves a shot late, we could do it. That restart… I just told myself, ‘don’t miss it.’”

Crew chief Alex Ward emphasized the growth behind the win.

“He learned all night,” Ward said. “Traffic, restarts, race management... he kept getting better. And when it mattered most, he was flawless.”

At Bristol, where pressure is constant and mistakes are costly, McQueen didn’t blink.

He delivered.

And now, he’s a winner.

For McQueen it's becoming a trend for him to win at Bristol with him taking the win in the second Bristol race in ARCA and sweeping the track last season in the Craftsman Truck Series.

BACK-TO-BACK AT THE ROCK: McQUEEN CHARGES FROM 18TH FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Image
NO. 55 SURVIVES DAMAGE, OUTDUELS LOVE LATE TO STEAL ONE AT ROCKINGHAM

Rockingham has a way of humbling drivers who show up expecting an easy day and for much of the weekend, it looked like Logan McQueen III was headed straight into that trap.

The No. 55 Peak Motorsports Chevrolet never found a comfortable rhythm in practice, and qualifying only reinforced the struggle. McQueen rolled off 18th for the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 presented by Black’s Tire, buried in traffic at a place where clean air is currency and patience is everything.

Stage 1 was all about survival. A multi-car mess ahead of him threatened to swallow the middle of the pack, but McQueen threaded the needle, kept his nose clean, and watched the chaos create opportunity. When the dust settled, the No. 55 was suddenly in the top five and McQueen capped the recovery by finishing 5th in the opening stage.

The second stage nearly unraveled before it even began. An impact gun issue on pit road cost the team valuable time, and McQueen restarted Stage 2 back in 9th. The run that followed was the kind that wins championships. McQueen hunted down the leaders one by one, found speed in the long-run, and tracked down Connor Zilisch in the closing laps of the stage. He couldn’t quite get there, Zilisch held on, but McQueen crossed the line 2nd in Stage 2, glued to the No. 88’s rear bumper and clearly the fastest car not named Zilisch.

Then the race turned cruel.

With McQueen and Zilisch at the sharp end of the field midway through the final stage, disaster struck in traffic. Zilisch got driven into by a slower car he was trying to work around, and McQueen had nowhere to go. The No. 55 slammed into the wounded No. 88, and in an instant, McQueen’s bid for a clean, straightforward win became a fight for survival.

Peak Motorsports went to work. The crew hammered out the damage, got the No. 55 pointed straight again, and sent McQueen back out in 28th with a mountain to climb.

From there, it was all McQueen.

He carved through the field with the urgency of a driver who knew exactly what he had in his hands, a car good enough to win, even if it wasn’t pretty anymore. He picked off positions in bunches, worked his way into the top 12, and waited for one more break.

It came late, under caution.

While most of the field ducked to pit road, McQueen and Zilisch stayed out, inheriting the front row. Zilisch’s car was heavily damaged from the earlier chaos, and McQueen took full advantage. On the restart, the No. 55 launched cleanly and drove away, leaving Zilisch to fight for grip and survival behind him.

Jesse Love didn’t make it easy. Love closed in late and filled McQueen’s mirror, putting the No. 55 under real pressure in the final laps. But McQueen never flinched. He protected his line, managed the run, and held Love off to take the checkered flag his second straight NASCAR Xfinity Series win, this time at one of the sport’s most unforgiving tracks.

“This one was a grinder,” McQueen said. “We didn’t have it early in the weekend, and after the contact… I thought it might be done. But my guys fixed it, and once we got track position late, I wasn’t letting it go.”

Crew chief Alex Ward praised the resilience.

“That’s a team win,” Ward said. “We got behind twice, pit road, then damage, and he never changed, never got down. He just kept taking what the race gave him. That’s how you win at Rockingham.”

At the Rock, perfection isn’t required.

Toughness is.

And Logan McQueen III just proved he has plenty of it.

Good to stack a couple wins at the smaller tracks, not sure we have the speed for a W at Dega.
