Paris FC Sell Josias Lukembila, Promote Academy Starlet, Leo Poisson on Quiet Deadline Day

Josias Lukembila joins Sassuolo for €1.8M in search of more playing time.

Paris FC’s January 2025 transfer deadline day passed with minimal activity, a reflection of a club firmly committed to continuity amid a flawless start to the season. Having won every competitive match so far, the club saw little reason to disrupt a squad performing at an elite level under Sonia Bompastor.

The only permanent departure was Josias Lukembila, who completed a move to Sassuolo. The 25-year-old Swiss right winger had been pushing for an exit after finding opportunities limited, with Ilies Kebbal enjoying a prolific campaign and locking down the right-wing role. With minutes scarce and his ambitions clear, Paris FC agreed to a deal that suited all parties.

Lukembila’s departure has opened the door for youth, with 18-year-old academy winger Léo Poisson promoted to the first team as backup at right wing. Highly regarded internally for his work rate and technical upside, Poisson’s elevation aligns with the club’s growing emphasis on internal development.

Elsewhere, Julien Lopez will depart in the summer after agreeing a free transfer to Córdoba CF. The 32-year-old attacker has featured sparingly this season and was not offered an extension by the Paris FC board.

In all, it was a deadline day defined by restraint and confidence in what is already working. Below is the updated Paris FC squad for the remainder of the season:

Good balance to the squad, a lot of local players. Maxime Lopez is a top midfielder. This season the squad is working but next year it looks like striker and defense will need some improvements.

I agree with Sonny here. Lots of exciting upgrading to be done this offseason. No doubt you have a plan in place X. Don't want to be in a relegation battle in ligue 1

Also did you use excel or what for the squad planner?

Yeah for sure will need upgrades up top and better CBs next year. Didn't buy this year but hoping to have enough funds then

The taste of defeat. A very good showing in the loss, but I believe it is actually a draw, is it not? Maybe a FIFA mistake?

A good test and example of what you will be facing next season.

Your ex-United player is French? Martial is the only one that comes to mind. If so, what a great fit and leader he could be. If you have the funds to make it work.
