Rays Can't Capitalize On Cardinals' Sloppy Defense, Drop Season Opener, 6-1 -- In a season opener that began with promise but quickly spiraled into disappointment, the Tampa Bay Rays fell to the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1. The Rays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first, igniting hopes of a strong start. However, that glimmer of optimism quickly faded as they registered just three hits over the course of the game. Meanwhile, the Cardinals, armed with an impressive twelve hits and benefiting from the Rays' lone error, seized control and never looked back. St. Louis effectively dismantled Tampa's momentum, leaving the Rays to regroup after a lackluster showing on opening day.

Bats did not come alive in that one. Kind of the exact opposite of a start than what you wanted
Intrigued to follow this one
