Not the start you want but probably the start you expect.

AI loves adding in those W/L graphics.

Not a great start but such is life.

We lost a couple of those games on walk-offs so if we could be a little more clutch :pgdead:

When the AI didn't have that at first and you ask for it to include it :uhh:

Not at all, but we move.

The 2026 Los Angeles Angels are apparently running an experiment to find out whether it's better to get blown out or lose in clutch situations as the Halos dropped their third game by walk-off, meaning they've lost in such a fashion in half of their games so far this campaign.

The Chicago Cubs came into this game off the back off a no-hitter from their pitching staff in game two of this three-game series and it seemed like they were going to have another great pitching performance as Justin Steele mostly keep the Angels from scoring despite surrendering two runs in the top of the first inning. Yusei Kikuchi also had a solid start to the day with just one run allowed through the first two innings, but things fell apart for him in the fourth.

Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a routine grounder to Nolan Schanuel, but he misplayed the ball and gave Crow-Armstrong the base through the error. Ian Happ would come in and ground to left for a single, bringing the centerfielder. A few batters later, it looked like Kikuchi would work his way out of a jam with Nico Hoerner on first and Happ on third, but Seiya Suzuki would smash a fastball right back up the middle for a double, bringing in both baserunners.

The Angels would cut into the lead in the top of the fifth inning with a solo shot from Kyren Paris but Matt Shaw would bring in Dansby Swanson to restore the four-run lead.

The top of the seventh would be the Cubs' moment to self-destruct as Jameson Taillon gave up four runs, including a three-run homerun to Zach Neto. Caleb Thielbar would come in to try to close out the inning with the lead, but he would give up a 414 foot shot to Jorge Soler to tie the game, earning Thielbar a potentially undeserved blown save.

Neither team would retake the lead for the remainder of regulation and the game would go into extra inning. After three scoreless half-innings, Robert Stephenson would step in for the Angels to get them back to the plate but with only his second pitch in the game, Alex Bregman would rip a hit down the first base line that Jo Adell misplayed, giving Nico Hoerner all the time he needed to reach home and win the game for Chicago.

"There is still a lot of season left to go, but we have to clean this up." - Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout

I'd be sick to my stomach. Seem to be figuring out the hitting now at the very least. Hopefully, that translates to some victories soon.
