Wings Sign Free Agent Kate Martin Amid Offensive Struggles



The Dallas Wings have reached a 1-year deal with Kate Martin amid the teams slow start on the offensive side of the court.

Outside of one of the best scoring guards in the WNBA, Arike Ogunbowale, & the #1 pick in the 2025 draft, Paige Bueckers, Dallas' players have really struggled to put points on the board.

"Kate [Martin] is a high energy player. We're hopeful that she can come in & provide a spark for this team when we can't have our two best players on the floor at the same time." Wings' head coach Chris Koclanes told DS.net.

Martin previously played for the Las Vegas Aces where she averaged 2.6 PPG in 34 games. Martin was selected in the Valkyries expansion draft but was released after the preseason as the team shed their roster to 12 players.

With #20 being worn by Maddy Siegrist, Martin will debut with #0 in the upcoming road game against the Atlanta Dream.

The rest of the team is just so bad. I'm going to be making some changes if we want to have a chance (starting with signing Martin). But those two going NO WHERE.
