Pacific football announces hiring of Pete Carroll
Pacific football alum joins program in advisory role

Current Seattle Seahawks head coach and GM Pete Carroll played football and was a graduate assistant at Pacific in the 1970s. Now Carroll has re-joined the program after accepting an advisory role with the fledgling football program.

"It's extremely exciting for me, for all of us." Carroll said. "When I was told the program was coming back I knew I wanted to be involved in some capacity."

The hiring of Carroll has led many to speculate that he would be leaving his position with the Seahawks but all parties involved say that Carroll will be allowed to hold both positions simultaneously for the time being.

When asked if he had any intention of coaching at Pacific in the future Carroll stated that he did not anticipate that happening but he would never say never.

"It's an incredible honor." Brennan Carroll exclaimed after he was introduced as the head coach of Pacific football.

Carroll, who spent last season as the offensive coordinator at Arizona, said the opportunity to work with his father, Pete Carroll who holds an advisory position with the program, was too good to pass up.

Before his stint at Arizona Carroll was an assistant with the Seahawks working under his father for six years. Before that he spent four years as a wide receivers and tight ends coach at Miami. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and then tight ends coach at USC, also working for his father.

Toward the end of the press conference Carroll announced his first hiring. Nate Carroll, his younger brother, will be joining the coaching staff as offensive coordinator. Nate has worked as an assistant with the Seahawks since 2011, most recently as the wide receivers coach.

"We're going to jump on the recruiting trail as soon as we're done here and work on getting the rest of this coaching staff assembled." Nate said when reporters asked the duo what was next.

Pacific is slated to begin games in the fall of 2024.
