The Big Decision.
Before Kai was three hats: The University of Louisville, the University of Cincinnati, & the University of Minnesota.
For the Louisville Cardinals, the starting quarterback is a senior, & Kaiyote would have an opportunity at playing time after one season of being the backup.
For the Cincinnati Bearcats, the starting quarterback is a junior, & Kaiyote may find himself in a battle for minutes against the backup after two seasons. UC, however, has the best scholarship offer with the perks available.
& finally, for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, is an opportunity to start as a freshman & gain collegiate experience right away.
Kai took one final moment to thank his teammates at Bryan Station, attributing them to his success on the field. Together, they won the KHSAA 6A state championship in Kentucky with a win over Trinity High in Louisville.
Kaiyote gave all of the praise to everyone he could but it was finally time. He picked up the hat that he felt was the best decision for him.
"It was a tough decision, but I've made my mind up. Next season I will be joining the Minnesota Golden Gophers..

I'm excited. It wasn't anywhere near my list of preferred destinations but once I saw I could start as a freshman it was instant
