The Phoenix Suns are continuing to take their lumps early in the season, as they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers to extend their losing streak to four games. Los Angeles got off to a hot start, holding Phoenix scoreless for the first five minutes of the game before Devin Booker managed to drive the lane for a layup. Booker continued to put the Suns on his back, tying the game at halftime. Booker had already scored 30 points midway through the third quarter causing the Lakers to switch up their defensive assignments to slow him down in the second half.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (21.8ppg) came into this one after scoring a season high 44 points in a loss to Golden State. Gilgeous-Alexander got off to a hot start, knocking down his first four shots before LeBron James drained a three point shot. Los Angeles managed to quickly close the gap with a few well-timed threes. Kenrich Williams was key in the third quarter, scoring 10 points for Los Angeles as the Lakers began to overtake the Thunder, outscoring them by 11 to take a double-digit lead. Gilgeous-Alexander was able to get OKC within 6 points in the fourth, but Los Angeles went on a 13-4 run to end the game.

John Wall got the start, but he may not have been the best option with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Sasser at least has youth on his side. SGA had all but two of OKC’s 20 points in the first quarter. Lakers moved the ball efficiently on offense. Anthony Davis was welcomed back into the lineup, after missing 8 games, scoring 8 points and grabbing 11 boards off the bench.

Thunder
SGA needs more help 10-19(FG). Josh Giddey shouldn’t be coming off the bench behind Stephon Castle. He played well against Sasser, taking advantage of the mismatch and scoring 15 points. David Grace managed to hold him to just five points in the second half. OKC played well inside, scoring 62 points in paint.
