Crossan signed as Burkhead heads to IR, Harry returns to practice
DynastySports.com

The New England Patriots have placed Rex Burkhead on the injured reserve list and signed free agent running back Dalton Crossan.

Burkhead broke his collarbone in the loss to Dallas and was expected to be sidelined for two months with him making a potential return in the playoffs. However, New England decided to end his season short, a season where he rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the lack of gaudy numbers, Burkhead was a huge part of the offense, playing just 34 less snaps this season than leading rusher Sony Michel due to his versatility as both a runner and a receiver.

It was a busy and eventful Tuesday practice for the New England Patriots, practicing for the first time this calendar year coming off a loss. Crossan practiced with the team for the first time after both him and free agent Darren Sproles worked out with the team on Monday but the team did not reach an agreement with Sproles. Present in practice was also number 15, first round pick and rookie receiver N'Keal Harry who hasn't played this season due to an ankle injury he suffered in the preseason.

New England Patriots vs. Houston Texans Preview
DynastySports.com

After a heartbreaking loss to the Dallas Cowboys to end New England's undefeated season, New England (10-1) would love nothing more than to stay home, beat up on an overmatched AFC East team before they have to play Kansas City next week.

Instead, they get a Houston (6-5) team that is fighting for their playoff lives.

New England fumbled the game away against Dallas, almost literally. The team had a season high four turnovers including an interception and fumble by Brady that took at worse six points from New England in the red zone and resulted in two touchdowns for the Cowboys. Add in James White's fumble that was returned for a touchdown and that's a 30-point swing.

Houston is tied with Tennessee for the divisional lead after the Titans have lost five straight games after starting the season undefeated. They have a favorable end of the season: home vs. the Broncos and on the road at Tennessee and Denver before hosting the Titans to end the season in what could likely be a game for the division.

Watson has been electric with 21 touchdowns and just four interceptions, completing 73 percent of his passes. His top target DeAndre Hopkins figures to have an exciting matchup with Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, the all-pro that had his second interception of the season last week. Gilmore leads all corners with 10 pass breakups this season.

Watson throws game-winner while Gordon drops potential game-winner in loss to Texans
New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore was putting on a clinic when it came to covering all-pro Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Except for two plays and all that's all that mattered.

Hopkins' third catch of the night was a big one, a 46-yarder on 4th and 15 with 1:14 left in the game to help set up Deshaun Watson's 17-yard touchdown to Darren Fells to win the game 30-25 over the New England Patriots on Sunday night.

Watson was electric in the fourth, scoring on a read option play with 1:56 to make it a one point game after the two-point conversion failed. New England almost got a first down but Julian Edelman was stopped short on the ensuing drive.

New England stopped Houston on the first three plays of the drive but then Hopkins was able to get a step on Gilmore and beat him deep on fourth down. Hopkins' first catch was an 88-yard touchdown in the second but besides that, Gilmore had kept him in check.

Brady completed passes of 32 and 13 yards on the next drive before throwing up a heave into the endzone that was knocked out of Josh Gordon's hands by Justin Reid on fourth down.

After starting the season undefeated, New England has now lost back-to-back games due to last second touchdowns by two Texas teams. They play Kansas City next with the conference's top seed, all of sudden, back into contention.

relax, he had like two big plays.

josh gordon has been up and down so we really miss AB. that slant to him was automatic against a soft zone or man to man coverage. even if Flash gets open, he's liable to drop it. I wish they kept track of the drops because it feels like he has at least 20 on the season.
