A-State starts to fill cupboard with recruits, still waiting on 4-star safety Josh Johnson

The #20-ranked Arkansas State Red Wolves have gotten the commitments from three-star wide receiver Darrelle Keene, three-star wide receiver Enrique Ayanbadejo, three-star WILL linebacker John Marks, three-star MIKE linebacker Daniel Marciano, and a pair of three-star cornerbacks Andre Okafor and Gio Reinbolt.

The team has been looking for their opportunity to fill out their 2027 recruiting class after seeing their initial wave of targets opt for other schools, namely four-star tight ends Spencer Simmons and Jimmy Abel. Grabbing players in skill positions was of great importance to head coach Griff McCarley and offensive coordinator Nico Augustine as they hope to continue their stranglehold on the Sun Belt Conference.

Starting in the backend, Andre Okafor out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee stands at 5-foot-9 and has nothing but speed. His athleticism has him playing both ways in high school but he is intending on staying on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. Gio Reinbolt out of Macon, Georgia, brings more size off the bat at 6-foot-1, 188 pounds and is a great rangy corner with great reach that locks down a side of the field.

Daniel Marciano, a MIKE backer out of Rowlett, Texas, is another recruit to keep an eye out for due to his pure athleticism and relentless motor. He's an absolute bloodhound for the ball carrier and marks him down as often as he can.

The team hopes to get more news about their highest-ranked recruit remaining, four-star safety Josh Johnson soon. He still weighing his options with his top three being Tulane, Arkansas State and Oklahoma State.
