Red Wolves add two more, await word on 3-star Duke Golden
By Olivia Scott | Jonesboro Newsletter

Starting the season 6-2, ripping through the Sun Belt, and being on a five-game winning streak sure has its perk, head football coach Butch Jones has found out. The team has secured the verbal commitments of two more recruits: two-star wide receiver Dante Coxie out of Collierville, Tennessee and offensive lineman Emmanuel Aromashodu from Austin, Texas.

Coxie, a 6-foot-2, 183 pound wide receiver, was one of the first recruits sought out by offensive coordinator Nico Augustine upon joining the Arkansas State coaching staff. He came onto campus for his official visit in Jonesboro two weeks ago, and was mulling over offers from Mississippi State and Old Dominion before ultimately landing with the Red Wolves. A sure-handed receiver with above-average route running, Coxie was targeted for his football IQ and for possessing good size.

Meanwhile, Aromashodu is a 6-foot-4, 289 pound offensive guard out of Austin, Texas that was considering Hawai'i, Louisiana Tech, and Sam Houston, having booked official visits with all three schools. Coach Jones snagged him first, having been at campus during A-State's 37-7 thumping of Georgia Southern.

"Being able to get on the field early and make an impact as soon as I step foot on campus was really integral for me," Aromashodu said. "Coach Augustine mentioned that we're rebuilding this thing through the trenches, so getting the opportunity to be a part of that process was something I couldn't pass up."

Things weren't all green for the Red Wolves, as junior college wide receiver Iosefa Nkang has opted for Southern Mississippi after a visit at the school. Nkang was scheduled to arrive at A-State two weeks later for their game against Southern Miss, but clearly had seen enough to commit. He was also considering Eastern Michigan and James Madison.

Edge rusher Theo Kumar, a 6-foot-1, 224 pound native of Bettendorf, Iowa, has chosen to close his recruitment and commit to Toledo over Iowa, Arkansas State, and Nebraska. Reports indicate he had been waiting for an offer out of Iowa, but instead opted to take the scholarship from Toledo.

The team remains in on three-star safety Duke Golden, who is their highest-rated recruit remaining on their board. He is sorting through a top five that consists of A-State, UAB, South Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Auburn. Coach Jones is also expected to target more wide receivers in the coming weeks.

Doing good work on the field, but with the likelihood of transfers, you need to translate that to recruiting :yep:
