Coaches Corner
Offensive Coordinator Jordan McAlary
By Don Knotts | @theotherdonknotts | November 18, 2025
Each week in the days following Kent State's game I will spend a few moments chatting with members of the coaching staff. I'll share some key points in this column.
This morning I spoke with offensive coordinator Jordan McAlary following Kent State's blowout win over Eastern Michigan.
Two straight games over 50 points. What's been the key to that?
Great execution by the players. You call the play hoping that if the execution is there then the play will be successful and we have been very much so. Great line play. Smart decision-making by Tommy and then just the backs and receivers finishing out the play.
You lead the nation in total offensive yards and first downs. Third in passing, fifth in rushing, sixth in points per game. And you're number one in rushing touchdowns and third down conversions. Did you picture this much success here?
Again, it comes down to execution. You can call the perfect play but you need the guys on the field to execute and they have been. When it all clicks this is what happens.
Who's your Player of the Week against Eastern Michigan?
Crishon got in the endzone twice. Big games for Gavin and Curtis too. Nice all-around game.

Kowalewski heads to WKU, Wire to Rutgers
Flashes lose two more targets
By Don Knotts | @theotherdonknotts | November 18, 2025
Max Kowalewski, a tight end prospect from Winter Park, Florida, has given a verbal commitment to Western Kentucky. He reportedly had Kent State second on his list.
Defensive tackle Alexander Wire has elected to stay close to his home in Hightstown, NJ, giving Rutgers a verbal commitment. Kent State was in Wire's top three.
Kent State's drought continues as they have not gained a commit in several weeks.
"We're not panicking." A recruiting coordinator said anonymously. "We're close on a lot of kids we really like. We're comfortable where we are at right now."
On a more positive note CB Jamaal Rabe has narrowed his choices to a top three, moving Kent State into the top spot.
