Chapter III: Wicked Games Pt.2

Nightfall has arrived, where the streets simmered down and the town was falling asleep to prepare for tomorrow. After spending portion of the day with Michael, Jodi finally made it in his dorm room to end his night as well. Though still on a bye, morning practice was not. With film study in the afternoon, Jodi would need as much shut eye as he can get. As he arrived to his dorm room, Jodi had remembered the conversation with Cassie, about receiving an invitation, but there was nothing of significant to the eye around his doorway. With nothing to look forward to, Jodi simply put it out of his mind. That was until he stepped inside...

Image

Jodi steps inside his place and immediately notices what was residing on the counter near the door, where he usually leave his keys. A letter, surrounded by a skull book, a small box, and presumed tonic that read, "poison". It didn't take much for his wig to be creeped out from it's presence. More so, Jodi was concerned about how someone got inside, as no doors or window was left unlocked. Jodi takes the letter, the main attraction in the clutter, reading it's scripture:

"The eyes who read this under one's shelter, I am your fortune teller. Sit for a spell, have some brew...

You don't know what's in store, but you know what you're here for...

You've been selected to appear at the designated location detailed in the future..."

Before Jodi resumes his read of the letter, he glances over the utilities that surrounded the letter, wondering where do they come into play, especially the filled bottles of whatever, be death or a hack. Jodi takes parts his eye from the counter and back onto the letter, skimming a bit forward.

"The rules are simple...

Read the book of, "The Cool", open the box and wisely choose your "game" piece...

Careful with your approach, as you will not return to "The Streets" wince you came from..."

Jodi redirects his attention to the closed box that sat next to letter's position. With his right thumb, he flips the latch on the box, learning the latch was broken, not securing the box or what was boxed in. The lid opened with a little strength needed from it's weight. Inside revealed the head of a rooster and a kabbalah scroll. Immediately, Jodi stepped back with disgust without telling if the head was real or not, he wasn't in the slightest interest of finding out after closing the lid to the box. Taking a deep sigh, pushing the image out of his head, Jodi finishes the letter:

"This weekend, find yourself in a lush getaway in the middle of nowhere...

Betray the genius leader and follow the sisters of beacon...

Sentence in the night, whisper like the reaper...

I am where there's chilling, Murals, R.I.Ps, with the four Mona Lisas...

Under the sky of ebony, you'll find many eyes watching, these ancient angels wears the Devil's mask...

Enter, enter... I accord you...

We do not need protection from the wheel of time, as it turns, our attention is laid by memory’s terms...

Realize you begin when you find where you'll end this..."

After setting down the cryptic letter, Jodi pulls out his phone, calling Michael almost immediately. After several rings, Jodi finally gets through. "Yo, Mike, what's up? You home?"

"Yeah, I was just looking at this crazy shit in my room."

"Oh, you got one too? That's what I'm cooling about. Yo, what the hell, is this shit for real?"

"I don't know. I asked my neighbor if anyone came in and they said they saw no one.", Michael iterating the same gesture of a possible break-in. Michael goes on to describe what he received, giving the exact visual Jodi sees in front of him. "This shit is weird Jodi."

"I'm on board with you. Cassie did say that there would be a party invitation, this can't be it."

"Shit, it better not! Poison?! A deathnote book?! I'm not even trying to find out what's in this box, did you look inside?"

"Yeah. None of the contents here makes sense... But this has to be it... In the letter it said, "this weekend, find yourself in a lush getaway in the middle of nowhere", where the fuck can that possibly be?"

"Man, leave this shit alone, bro. Grab everything, trash that shit!", Michael highly advised. "Fuck that party, I'm not going. You're not going either, right?"

Jodi paused for a moment, mulling over the stuff in front of him for an answer. "I want to stand on my answer from earlier today, but I'm not going to hold you Mike, I'm kinda curious."

"Curious? Curious about what? Whoever broke in here and put these satanic shit in here are not to be trifled with!"

"True, but don't you at least want to know who broke in here? Couldn't be Cassie, she's don't look the type to know how to pick a lock, let alone what she want to eat."

"Cardinal rule, Jodi: Looks are deceiving!"

"I know, I know. But I'm going... This book got to contain some type of directions to get there. As against it as I should be, I'm too intrigued."

"Fuck that! Party or no party, ain't shit you can say that'll make me to go with you..."

Two Nights Later

"Man, I can't believe you made me come with you! Know this shit is a bad idea", Michael echoed with disgruntle.

"Man, stop being a girl and come on."

The two traveled to a nearby trail that no car could inched through. Even by bike, the trail proved it's mettle with steep inclines before veering off into the distance of the dark woods. With the flash light on their phones, the two managed to traverse the eerie path into an opening of massive land. Intercepting branching paths, was a park-like central with a statue of a male figure. The ledger underneath was too eroded to read. Michael gives a look around, checking the coast with Jodi, as they were the only two in the vicinity, making their paranoia heighten beyond reason. Before departing the statue's location, Jodi takes out the letter, reading over the cryptic messages.

"The genius leader, this has to be him, I guess?" Jodi pointed out."

"Safe to assume so. Naturally, monumental leaders earn statues."

Image

"Follow the sisters of beacon..." With that instruction, Jodi and Michael leaves the statue and walk towards a corridor of lamp posts.

"Lights?... Okay."

"Yo, Mike, look. The girl up head... Is that? Cassie?"

"Looks like her... Can't see her face from this far. Let's get closer."

"Make sure nothing is coming up on our rear", Jodi wearily looks behind.

Image

"Now who's acting like a girl-", Michael rebutted but catches his-self. The two couldn't believe there own eyes, with just two seconds looking around, the female figure had vanished.

"Where she go? She was just there."

"Man, I know I'm not tripping, Jodi. You saw a girl, I saw a girl, just up ahead. Now she's gone. Ain't nobody that fast to disappear in this vast opening."

There was no signs of the girl heading in any direction as the wind picked up, pushing a bone-chilling breeze across the napes of the two adventurers, putting the asses in gear move forward, whether they wanted to, or not...

Traversing further ahead, Jodi and Michael appeared to reach their "final destination", no pun intended. Neither of the two could tell the difference between reality and stage prop. For a storied manor, the land was filled with graves, crows hanging about in the lifeless husk of trees. An evil intention stalked through the mist in the air as their fear in uncharted territory started to set in.

As the two reached the front door, Jodi read off another cryptic message in the letter: "The ancient angels wears the Devil's mask..." Looking up, Jodi sees three statues of gargoyles, perched above the door as guardians, their faces carved into malicious intentions.

Michael's nerves begins to get the better of him, questioning his current existence in the reality he's about to unwillingly step into. Neither spoke a word as they look at each, before looking around once more. For Jodi, he looked just as worried as Michael, despite trying to steel his nerves inside.

"Jodi, I won't think less of you if you want to turn back and get out of here. You're a brave fella"

"Me? Scared? Look at you, I can hear your ankles chattering in fear."

"I'm not scared, it's just cold out here."

"Too damn cold", Jodi agreed.

"... You think someone is home? The lights are on, but I don't see no car anywhere."

"This place is probably way off the grid, Mike. I can't imagine anyone living out here so isolated."

As Jodi snooped around, looking for a doorbell to ring, unbeknownst to them, they were already being watched.

Image

With no visual of a doorbell, Jodi sighed heavily, taking the steps underneath him to the front door to knock. Just before he was able to do so, the latch on the door, from the inside, clicked.

"What was that?" Michael asked.

Slowly before them, the front door begins to turn, unhinging the mechanism, allowing the door to freely, yet, eerily swoosh open. The air from within flushed it's way outwards, brushing up against their noses. The air was thin, dry, humid, slightly putrid and smelled like death.

Be it a isolated funeral parlor, a morgue, or an erected tomb, what awaited them, called to them. No names were said, not even a word. With the howl of the hounding wind behind them giving a guided nudge, their bodies moved on their own, as if they were in a trance, yet conscious and unwilling, crossed the threshold to the unknown...

Chapter III: Wicked Games Pt.3

The adventure continues with Jodi and Michael entering the unknown, filling the void with life, as their footsteps pitter-pattered with their entry. Inside the threshold, the two look around without stepping a foot further in. Cobwebs cling to corners of the highest and lowest of walls. The dust roam through the air, thick enough to see. The air it-self was stale yet icy. With each inhale, their lungs filled with cold that nearly forces Jodi to cough in reaction. Despite that, the only chill was not in the air, was but from the surrounding it-self. As their mind wondered, the door that they walked through had shut closed, locking it-self. Michael quickly turns back, scamping to the door, attempting to jiggle the knob and searching for a lock handle, but there was none to be found.

"Jodi, this door doesn't lock from the inside, how the hell are we going to get out? We're stuck!"

"I don't know, but it looks like we no choice but to be here..."

Michael makes slowly makes his weary way back to the side of Jodi. "Jodi, man, it's too quiet in here." And he was right, not a sound was in the air. All the wind that was howling and russling through the trees, none of those sounds were piercing through the house. It was so quiet, silence bled from their ears as if they were supposed to hear crickets chirping from afar.

"Yeah, too quiet", Jodi agreed.

"Jodi, we gotta get out of here man, there's no one here, I don't know why we're here, this shit is freaking me out already." Michael rambles on, nearly hyperventilating

"Calm down bro, I'm right here. Just breathe, man, breathe. All is not loss, one of these doors got to lead to somewhere."

Where the two stood was in a corridor with many doors on the left and right, and one in the center, drawing the most attention. Jodi and Michael progressed down the corridor, seeing two opened archways, one on each side. The left archway led to a red velvety study room. With the walls shrouded in shelved books, the windows draped in black curtains and dampered lighting, the theme gave off a goth-vampiric vibe. Most notable, there was one cylinder table with one chair. On the table was a lit candle, open book and one empty stemmed glassed cup. Michael focuses his eyes on the pages of the book, noticing a crimson-maroon redness, that bled onto the white pages, yet there was no other sign of the coloration elsewhere. As curious Michael was, he dared not to pique his interest. The room to the right was much the same, but a more lounging area. Sofa, loveseat, ottoman, they all were velvety red with black wood finishing. Just like the last room, it's dampered lighting created an eerie goth-vampiric vibe that neither could digest for comfort.

Passing the closed doors, a frail light flickered underneath each door, no movement, no sound came from the other side, neither did Jodi or Michael wanted to find out what was inside. But the centered door in the corridor, their main attraction. As much as they were against it, if it meant dwelling deeper inside the empty lot to find an exit, the sooner the better. But as Jodi reached for the knob, a propped spider drops down before them, spooking both of them. Once the two gathered themselves and realized what it was, Jodi exhibits the mouth of the spider, taking a note, reading it in silence.

"What's it say, J?"

"Beyond this door is no world for the sane.
Pull the knob, reveal what's in store, drink, then walk the everplain.
What you seek is where it resides.
Find me in hell, the depths of the garden's divine."

"What the fuck does that even mean!? Hell!?" Michael questioned. Jodi stares at the door knob of the door in front of him, hesitant. With a deep sigh, Jodi reaches for the knob, slowly pulling back on it. After releasing the knob, a secret compartment next to the door turns out from the wall. There sat two glasses full of a colored concoction, one red, the other blue. After looking at each other momentarily, Michael quickly spoke up, "No bro, don't even think about it. You don't even know it's safe!"

"What other choice do we have Mike? Do you want to ride this out til dawn and see if anyone comes? Or do you want to get out of here as quickly as possible? Cause there's no one here but us two..." In contrary to their beliefs, a wicked laughter could be faintly heard just after Jodi's remark.

"Did you hear that?", Michael asked.

Jodi returns his attention to the concoctions, taking the blue filled glass in his hand. Feeling the weight of the drink, taking in the visual of the smoke that shimmered up towards his nose, Jodi could sense this task would be thick one down the hatch.

Once again, Michael hesitated Jodi, "Man, are you sure about this? You don't know what that stuff will do."

"Only one way to find out...", Jod responded then quickly takes the concoction to the head, quickly downing it.

Michael looks on to Jodi, giving the process a moment to digest. "How do you feel? Any different?"

Jodi's face then screws up when the aftertaste kicked in, "it takes like sour blueberries... But, I don't feel any different."

The two goes silent as Jodi reaches for the red concoction, it was the same as the one before, weighty, shimmering with smoke from it's thick-like substance. Jodi then proceeds to pass it along to Michael. "Here man, it's your turn."

"My turn? I didn't sign up for this shit! This was supposed to a party here, with girls, not... Whatever this is and god knows what that is."

"Michael... Drink it. It's fine... Maybe it's a part of their game. A pre-game or something."

"Yeah, a pre-game... Jodi, I swear man, if anything happens..."

"Don't worry, I'm right here bro, I'm not going... Anywhere", Jodi, says with his verbal slightly unhinging.

Michael takes a good stare at the glass in his hand, taking a sigh before raising the glass. Just as he was about to take it back, the lights flickers then goes dim and a dark figure grabs Michael from behind as the glass slips from his hand, crashing to the floor. The sound of the glass breaking snaps Jodi out of the slight daze, reaching out for Michael, but the figure was too quick, snatching the frantic Michael, who screamed for help. Jodi tries to lunge for the door, but his right foot gives weight to a tile on the floor, which immediately collapse the floor underneath him, Jodi takes the plunge tot he depths unknown from the booby trap...

The hypnotic frequencies that lingered from afar, perked up Jodi's ears, helping his unconscious body return to a functioning state. Jodi felt hot, numb, and was completely out of it. Not knowing what happened, where he is or what's going on. Weighted by grogginess, Jodi limbs slowly scrambled for a footing.

"He... -ing up... It's... most ti-...Qui... dy fo... plan... Dis... be good- hahahaha"

Laughter was the most that Jodi's mind could comprehend. Unsure if he was hearing things, or he wasn't alone, Jodi's mind anywhere but in it's right state as he laid his hands on his temple, yearning for the room to stop spinning. Jodi slightly opened his eyes, and what was dark, a light flashed in his eyes, blinding him as he grit his teeth and hide his eyes behind his hand. After a moment or two, Jodi regains some control in his appendages, pulling his-self up to his feet, gingerly, attempting to look around, but his eyes could not recognize anything as every image cast an afterimage.

"H-hello? Is-is anyone there?..." Jodi slightly shouted. "Michael...", he then murmured.

Suddenly, the blaring music stops, and whatever light that danced in Jodi's eyes had seized.

"Hello!?", he shouted once more. After a brief silence, an eerie suspenseful music began to play, something you'd hear in a horror movie, but more sinister. Jodi tries to pull him-self together, taking small steps against the wall that felt more like a rock or boulder due to it's sharp edges and texture. With a few more steps, Jodi makes a right turn, but bumps into something. Blind in the darkness, Jodi feels for what's in front of him and he begins to make out a person from the touches he could gander. Suddenly a bright searchlight emit it's light into the face of Jodi as the figure in front of him remains shrouded in darkness. Jodi jumps back, falling to the ground, put space between him and whatever. His eyes strained hard enough to focus and makes out that it was indeed a person standing before him. But the head shape was weirdly disfigured from any human, as it had appeared to be rabbit ears sprouting from the head of the humanoid.

"W-who are you?? What do you want from me??", Jodi asked in fear. The entity before did not respond with words, but with a slight lean of the head to the side, as if one hemisphere of the head weighed more than the other. Then revealed from it's chest, a scythe, large enough for Jodi's eyes to widen as he stumbles to his feet and makes haste to the other direction. Jodi navigates blindly with swiftness around the dark area. With Jodi looking behind him towards the light he desperately runs from, he sees the figure beginning to slow walk towards him. With his heart beginning to pick up it's rate, Jodi crashes against a walled surface that felt like a wooden door to him. With the door giving access, Jodi whips his body to the other side of the door, shutting him-self from the previous room.

"Jooooodiiii.... Come heerreee, my little preyyyy... Jooooodiiiii..."

As the voice echoed in the new room Jodi had sealed him-self in, from a distance, he could see a slither of light on the ground, where there was smoke fuming from it and around it.

"Jooooodiiiii...."

"Come on, yo, this shit isn't funny no more! Let me go!" Jodi frighteningly pleaded.

Sounds of steel could heard faintly scraping against each other, becoming louder and louder with each scrape. The noise intensifies in Jodi's ears as his ears were already perked up from the concoction, but unaware to Jodi, he's heightened out of fear. Trying to inch away from the sound, Jodi hugs the wall, moving slowly to the right, moving ever so gingerly to not give away his location. But as he lifts his right leg, his knee bumps into a table that drops an object sounding like a platter with other small materials around it. From one dark room to another, Jodi could not make of where he was or going.

"Jooooodiiiiiii... You can not leave meeeeeee.... We've yet to have our fun...."

"P-please, stay away, I just want to go home...", Jodi whimpered. The concoction Jodi had drunk had began to take it's full affect on him, in a state of intense fear and paranoia. The scrapes of steel intensifies as the light from the door shimmers away to total darkness, but the fumes that had vaguely shrouded the light had filled the room, gas, with a hint of strawberry. The smell was pleasant enough to throw Jodi's state of fear into a slight calm as he kept inhaling it.

"Tell meeeeee, Joooooodiiii... Are you scaaaaared yet?.. Cause...", then with emittance of green light filling the room, a white bird-like masked figure, tethered in feathers jumps in the face of Jodi, "I"M HAUNTING YOU!!", the voice behind the mask grizzly shouted.

Jodi in fear reacted as they expected. Stumbling about in pure terror. With the room filled in with liquid chambers, disfigured bodies floated about in them, and Jodi's mind reciprocates the horror with shock and tears as he thrash about near them, looking for a escape out the room. The masked figure gives chase with it's hunch-back like scamper, welding two long daggers in each hand. With nowhere to run, Jodi is backed into a corner, falling against the wall in fear for his life as he balls up in a fetus position. "P-p-please! Don't kill me! I-I-'m sorry! I never should've came here! Please don't hurt me!"

As the bird-like masked figure slowly approached Jodi, it tilted it's head, just as the last one did before, then suddenly, the figure vanishes into thin air, as if the masked feathered-body was just a cloak, dropping to the floor. With terror in his eyes, Jodi was left alone. Other than the liquids in the chambers bubbling once every few seconds, Jodi takes a moment to try to gather him-self and catch his breath. Looking around, Jodi sees a ventilating duct, big enough for him-self to squeeze in. With no other viable options, Jodi looks around for tools to unscrew the bolts out and make his advancement inside...

Deep into the gallows, Jodi crawls through the ventilation system, doing his best to remain as quiet as possible, as terrified as he was. Slithering each limb slowly, Jodi tries to shake off his induced paranoia as the sweat began to bead across his face, trying to navigate in the humid tunnel. Where this ventilation was tunneled, Jodi's guess was as good as any, but it was better than where he was. But the belly of the vent felt warmer with each yard he crawled through. But finally, a break in the vent, Jodi quietly looks out the gated slots, looking his surroundings. The area below was murky and not well lit. But what grabbed Jodi's attention was the voice of a small child, at least that's what it sounded to his ears. Jodi moves further up more, trying to adjust and get a better view as he continues to hear a singular laughter, a playful laugh. A little girl, coasting back and forth on a swing. Swinging back and forth in full momentum, the girl in a black dress seemed to be lost in her own world, singing a song that Jodi could hardly understand, much alone hear over his heartbeat. But one thing Jodi did notice was the swing came a slow, then a full stop. The girl's back facing the venture, grew silent, before turning her head to the right, with a sneering smile, cocking her eyes upwards to the vent, as if she knew someone was watching her. Frightened and frozen in place, Jodi dared not make a peep.

"Jodi, come down and play with me. We will have so much fun. We can play puzzles, we can play house, we can play hide and seek. I'll count to ten...", she says playfully. "And you run!", her voice switches from a playful girl to a deep demonic aggressor. The girl reveals her face to be pale, bloodied with scars and dirt. She quickly stands up, back still towards Jodi, bridging backwards onto her hands and creepily crawls towards Jodi's direction. Shook as he was, Jodi didn't waste time making a bee line to the journey's end of the ventilation.

Jodi struggles to get the gated vent to open. Once he finally gets it pushed forwards with a couple of elbow shots, Jodi crawls out the vent head first, into a lay of tall grass and flowers. Once again, Jodi finds him-self in another room, but this room was different than the other two. This room was well lit with warm lighting. But what he saw, Jodi could not fathom. After making it back on his feet, Jodi takes a look around to where he was. Tall grass, beds of flowers, and trees. Not just any ordinary trees. These trees were marked with violet-neon veins, networking throughout the tree. On the branches of the limbs resembled white onions, and they looked very pluckable, but Jodi could not be bothered as he has never seen anything of the kind before. Despite his hunger, Jodi pressed on. Taking more of a look around, a bench area sat in the middle of the room, with the back-seat facing towards a banister that laid with fruits in a bowl, and candles, that also tailored the room. Looking up, he realized the ceiling of the room, resembled the skies of the mythical details of hell. A reddish-orange, that looks to bleed from a sunset, but this lighting was eternal, and while the theme of this room didn't beg for violent acts, the calm before the storm was very imminent.

Jodi carefully walks around his surroundings, not trying to disturb a thing. Taking a peek around the corner, he witnesses a statute, stowed away in the crevices of the rock formation it gave posture to. In all it's glory, the statue stood erect in a calm nurturing state. With candles and fruit baskets at it's feet, Jodi sense a calm washing over him, a sense of him-self returning. It was then he was hit with a flashback to the note he read aside Michael:

"What you seek is where it resides. Find me in hell, the depths of the garden's divine."

It was at that moment Jodi realized he found the garden's divine. Taking a closer look at the statute, the scripture at the feet ordered a sacrifice.

"For the soul who looks for a release, offer me a sacrifice worthy, thy seeker of dawn, or follower of the way."

Jodi remembers carrying the item from the chest that he grabbed back at the dorm. With his heart still racing, Jodi senses were weary, still fighting the groggy state. He reaches into his pants pocket, pulling out the rooster's head, placing it into the basket before the statue's feet. Jodi takes a step back, allowing the process to take place, but nothing happened. Confused and concerned, Jodi begins looking around but then notices a change from the statue, blood of tears, flowing down the cheeks. Not knowing what this meant, Jodi remained in front of the statue. After another moment, a slot in the statue appeared, the size of an inventory box. With nothing coming from it, Jodi squats down to take a peek inside, but all there was darkness. Then suddenly, a head rolls out of the gut of the statue, revealing to be Michael's head.

"AAAAAHHHH!!! HAAAAAHHH1!! MICHAEL!! NOOO!!! OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!" Jodi shouted as he stumbled back, falling to the ground as a wave of shock took over him. Hyperventilating, Jodi was hysterical at seeing Michael's head, face contorted, almost recognizable, had it not been for eye glasses. Jodi tries to scurry back from the head, getting back to his feet and as he turned to make his getaway, Jodi was met by another figure in a mask of a pig. Loss for wards, Jodi stood frozen. Scared, out of options, and nowhere to run, Jodi thought to his-self how could this be the end. In return of Jodi's state of shock, the figure in the pig mask, slightly tilts it's head slowly. Jodi tried to plea, but he was loss for words, his eyes began to water, where his fear has reached it's height. But before Jodi could even unstuck him-self, the figure let out a loud squeal, as of a real pig. With Jodi not seeing it, the pig mask wearer cold cocks him in the chin, knocking out the sophomore. While it felt like forever, it was only minutes til Jodi came back to, but it was enough time for whoever the mask wearer was, to shackle Jodi's ankles together, dragging him to his final destination. And there was nothing Jodi could do about it, except lose consciousness once more...

Soapy, lol Aight so, the story been scrapped due to my BSOD.

What was supposed to happened next was drugged up Jodi succumb to an dirty hazing by four gothic sorority chicks , Cassie & Michael that goes too far. Pledging Cassie was supposed to SA him, which wasn't apart of the original plan.

The sorority girls would double down on the hazing and have Cassie send the "sextape" to her ex, Esphesian Prysock, of the Washington Huskies.

All that was to be done as everyone was in on the prank, the sorority girls dismisses Cassie's pledge, Michael botches his friendship with Jodi, and tension flares up between Jodi and Ephesian in the upcoming Ducks-Huskies game.
