Captain Canada, Ah man, it plays just as good as Top Spin 4. Gameplay alone, it feels like they just ported TS4 over to a new engine, and that's not a bad thing at all. It takes a bit to get use to the shot timing meter, but it works.
Unfortunately in this day and age, this game is considered bare bones in regards of depth. Just exhibition, mycareer, practice & online. They're taking a page out of PGA 2K & Masters and bloating the game with clothings, boosters, microtrans. There's nothing creatable outside of a player. Can't customize clothing, racket, ball, court, arena, nothing. Graphics isn't where it should be with this kind of technology, but hey, I started from the 8-bit era growing up, so anything modern is a gift to the visuals.
The only negatives at this point is the MyCareer is not a total reflection of the real tennis schedule (I think they just dumbed it down to get through the season a bit faster, but multiple tourneys a month would be nice), they have a fighting game size roster, but they did say more will be added free via updates, and their biggest negative is the the game needs to be always online (no membership, just internet), especially MyCareer. With rumors being that they're shutting down servers in 2025-6, hopefully they'll drop a patch that'll separate MyCareer from the internet constant.
Other than that, it's thoroughly enjoyable. I give it a solid 7.5-8/10, that may improve with later updates. . My personal gripe with the game is just the instant replay. NBA Live & 2K spoiled me with free roam angles
