ATL Loses Michael Penix Jr. Against The Saints, Zach Wilson Announced As The Starter.


Michael Penix Jr. grabs his shoulder after a hard hit in the third quarter against the Saints in New Orleans.

The injuries keep piling on for the Atlanta Falcons this season & now it's come for starting quarterback, Michael Penix Jr.

Midway through the third quarter, Penix Jr. clutched at his shoulder after taking a hard hit from New Orleans' linebacker, Henry To'oTo'o. He left the game & would not return as the players awaited a ruling on his injury.

Penix's season has been impressive as the 5 year pro has 3,017 passing yards (6th in the NFL), with 20 touchdowns compared to his 6 interceptions.

Backup QB Zach Wilson entered the game & impressed fans by completing 9 of his 10 passing attempts, including a 50 yard connection with star receiver, Jozif Farrakhan.

"[Zach] Wilson is our next man up. He's our guy & this entire organization is going to back him while Penix recovers." Falcons' head coach Raheem Morris told ESPN following the Falcons' 21-31 loss to thew Saints.
