Falcons Make Splash in Free Agency, Sign Jalen Ramsey and Key Veterans to Bolster 2029 Roster.

After a decent 9-8 campaign that saw them narrowly miss the playoffs, the Atlanta Falcons wasted no time retooling their roster heading into the 2029 season.

The headline addition is veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal. The 34-year-old former All-Pro is expected to bring leadership and stability to a secondary that struggled to force turnovers down the stretch last season.

Atlanta also added reinforcements on both sides of the ball. Tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo inked a three-year contract, providing a versatile weapon for the passing game. The Falcons rounded out their moves with the signing of quarterback Zach Wilson on a one-year contract to compete for the backup role behind Michael Penix Jr.

After a quiet finish to 2028, Atlanta’s aggressive free agency approach signals a clear intent to return to the postseason.

Don't know how much an old Jalen Ramsey is going to move the needle, but hopefully JF can do another carry job

Our highest rated CB is Jabbar Muhammad at 83 & Ramsey is an 84 so it's an upgrade nonetheless.

We had a corner Taron Johnson get all sorts of interceptions last season & he's only a 76 overall. I'll take the upgrade.

He might be an old man in 2029 but I think it was a pretty good pickup for us considering the price. I went after Kittle who was like a 90 overall but he denied us for the Rams

Honestly there's a consistent story with inconsistent QBs since the start of this thread. None worse than that high school QB though

If Penix goes down (& he actually played pretty good last season I thought) & Wilson takes over, we'll revisit this comment :drose:
